ASEAN Summit KL road closures – little impact so far

Jalan-Tun-Razak

Yesterday, it was announced that roads in downtown KL will be closed from today until Sunday (Nov 18-22) for the 27th Asean Summit and Related Summits 2015 which is happening at the KL Convention Centre. The list includes major roads, but The Star reports that this morning’s rush hour crawl was no worse than normal.

The daily said that a check along Jalan Tun Razak this morning showed that congestion “remained at the normal level”. The busy thoroughfare is among 12 affected by temporary closures. The other roads are Jalan Binjai heading towards Persiaran KLCC, Jalan Imbi heading towards Bukit Bintang, Jalan Kia Peng heading towards Lorong Perak and Jalan Raja Chulan heading towards Lorong Perak.

Also affected are Jalan Nagasari to Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Sultan Ismail to Jalan Ampang, Jalan Ampang to Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Ampang to Jalan Binjai, Jalan Sultan Ismail to Jalan P. Ramlee and Jalan Raja Chulan to Persiaran Raja Chulan.

City traffic police chief Asst Comm Mohd Nadzri Hussain said the 12 stretches will only be fully closed for about two hours on Saturday from 7.15pm to 9pm. This is to facilitate movement of leaders and delegates attending the summit’s gala dinner. Besides that period, the 12 roads will only be closed in stages from 7.40am to 9am until Sunday when the summits ends.

Nadzri advised motorists to use alternative roads such as Jalan Kia Peng/Jalan Stonor, Lorong Lumba Kuda, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, Jalan Hang Tuah and Jalan Pudu. Have a safe drive home this evening.

Please don’t lie. This is typical Government mentality. Make wrong decisions and now, pretend nothing went wrong. The jam was very bad today. Ministers and big shots don’t feel it because they go around fancy escorts.

We are the normal people who feel it.

Why they did not have it in fancy Putrajaya? Why build Putrajaya?

It looks like Putrajaya was built so that many Ministers and UMNO lapdogs would make millions each.

This is what happens when your leader Songlap RM2.6 billion and his party until now just condones it. They are more interested in stealing than running a city properly.

When you have bodohs running the city and stealing from yatim and orphans to go for holidays in the US, nothing can run properly.

They spent berpuluh puluh BILLIONS building Putrajaya. All contruction contracts given to UMNO Ministers and their relatives. No such thing as tender.
Also all maintenance contracts given to UMNO members.

Even you get the contract to wash all the toilets for Putrajaya, you can get berpuluh puluh millions per year.

Even if you get the contract to potong rumput for Putrajaya also, you can get berpuluh puluh million.
      All given to UMNO members.

That is why Putraja was made and created.

Isn’t it better and safer to have it at PICC? Safer for the ASEAN Summit and safer for the rakyat too. If there was an attack, the rakyat in KL won’t be hurt.

Bloody liars and report from the Govt. The jam in KL was very bad. Please dont lie with eyes wide open to thousands of ppl travelling and working to KL everyday.

As usual, when the govt says “everything ok”, it actually means “big problem”.
