VIDEO: Hoonigan Black Friday, ultimate 370Z drift clip

Here’s a video that would make you go ‘Drift King!’ In conjunction with Black Friday, Nissan and Hoonigan have teamed up to bring us this mad display of two Nissan 370Zs going sideways. It’s set in the multi-storey parking lot and the interior space of the now-abandoned Hawthorne Mall in Los Angeles, California.

If you’re wondering, those aren’t your run-off-the-mill 370Zs, but modified versions with 1,000 hp at the rear wheels. From the looks of it, the interior has also been stripped down, with nothing but a roll cage, bucket seats, a custom instrument panel and a few gauges.

As a reference, the 370Z sports a 3.7 litre V6 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. The standard 370Z pushes out power outputs of 332 hp and 375 Nm of torque. The Nismo 370Z however, is uprated to produce 350 hp (18 hp more than the standard specced 370Z) and the same amount of torque.

As for the drivers sliding those Nissans around – that’s two-time Formula Drift champion Chris Forsberg. The vehicle that Forsberg uses to compete in the series is also a Nissan 370Z. His drifting partner is Ryan Tuerck, also a professional drifter who has been in the game since 2007.

Unlike other drift videos, which almost seems too perfect to be true, this video, sees the rear of the white 370Z touching the curb. So we don’t recommend that one tries this stunt out at their nearby shopping mall. Nevertheless, that slide upwards the curving ramp is always the coolest part to watch isn’t it?
