GALLERY: 2016 Lexus LX 570 in Malaysian showroom

2016 Lexus LX 570 Malaysia 003

Yesterday, Lexus Malaysia announced the arrival of the Lexus LX 570 flagship SUV, and now, we’ve got a full photo gallery of the vehicle, which is on display at the Lexus Mutiara Damansara centre. The third-gen J200 makes its Malaysian debut in its third facelift form – a massive one-piece spindle grille provides new LX with an aggressive face. The revision work also brings about new LED head- and tailights, as well as revised bumpers.

The local car – which is actually Australian-spec, as revealed by one of the photos – rides on 21-inch 10-spoke alloys and 275/50 dual-purpose rubbers, and there are six exterior colours available, with two interior colour themes to pick from.

As mentioned in our story yesterday, lots of plush in the cabin, with plenty of real wood and metal-like accents to be found. Tech bits include a triple-linkage multimedia system that integrates the information on the 12.3-inch centre display (with a Remote-Touch Interface in tow), head-up display and 4.2-inch TFT colour display sitting between the speedometer and tachometer.

There’s also a wireless smartphone charging pad in the front console, which is compatible with Qi-supported devices or supported accessories. As for entertainment, the LX 570 is equipped with a 19-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround System with 16 channels of amplification, and second row passengers get a Rear Seat Entertainment system, which features dual 11.6-inch screens.

The SUV is powered by a 3UR-FE 5.7 litre V8 mill, which puts out 362 hp at 5,600 rpm and 530 Nm at 3,200 rpm. It’s paired with an AE80F eight-speed automatic transmission, which replaces the AB60F six-speed unit found previously. The full-time all-wheel-drive driveline includes two-speed transfer and variable fore-aft torque split via a Torsen limited-slip differential.

An Integrated Drive Mode manages powertrain, chassis elements and air conditioning parameters – six modes (Normal, Eco, Comfort, Sport S, Sport S+ and Customise) are available, selectable via a rotary control and operable while the vehicle is moving. Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 7.7 seconds and a 210 km/h top speed.

The LX is equipped with adaptive variable suspension (AVS), auto height control as well as crawl control, which provides improved throttle modulation when manoeuvring over rough, uneven or difficult surfaces at low speeds. A Multi-Terrain Monitor offers an image display of areas around the vehicle when traveling at low speeds (up to 20 km/h), as well as an underfloor view.

As for safety kit, aside from the usual bag (VSC, traction control, Isofix), the LX 570 comes equipped with ten airbags, all-speed active cruise control, blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert (plus reverse camera), lane departure warning and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Priced at RM923,960 on-the-road without insurance, the LX 570 comes with a three-year or 100,000 km warranty (whichever comes first), as well as a five-year or 100,000 km Free Schedule Maintenance Service package.

Lexus maybe a good car but buyer beware. It is the King of RV Depreciation. 2010 Lexus LS460L top of the range now selling for RM120k. Used car dealers will beg you to even take it for RM99k even. Shocking because less than 5 years ago, the car was close to RM900k.

In 4 years plus your car can jatuh from RM900k to RM99k.
That is how bad Lexus RV is. If you can afford to bear with the falling RV, go ahead and buy it and enjoy it.
Bear in mind also, most of the Lexus buyers, after susah payah paying 5 years every month, have to still top up berpuluh ribu their loan when they sell their car.
So besides super duper expensive parts, more expensive than even BMW, Lexus buyers always cry when selling their cars.

Make sure you are super rich before you buy this junk cause in 4 years time, it will be sold for RM100k

      • For a moment, I was wonder is this a Land Cruiser … WTF 900K+? That’s typical Toyota cash-ripping fashion. No question.

No la.. You made mistake. You are talking about LS.. This is LX. They are totally different things! .. Most of Sarawakian owners of the LX570 bought cash no loan and they will very quickly snap up the latest face lifted version and pass the two or three years old LX to their workers eg their managers and etc. No one is crying. Only us peasants think it is painful. Mind you the Land Cruiser LC200 with 4.5 V8 twin turbo brand new imported is close to RM800K in Sarawak and there are plenty! Most you see are covered in mud for real off road and off to sites and etc.

  • Lexus… is going through their Bangle “Try too hard” phase. Please let it be over soon and stop making Transformers-meets-Terminator cars.

    One question.
Can this Lexus LX overtake the “chrome Iriz” as we seen before in paultan post for the quarter miles races?

It’s a large luxury SUV and the boot size is smaller than the Santa Fe with all 7 seat on. Really? I think Lexus/Toyota got this very wrong.

A white interior, how nice! Perfect for a 4X4.

  • The design style – spindle and all works on the RX range. Here it falls flat. Looks like a mismatched cross between an RX front and a Land Cruiser back. The specs may be top-notch but thumbs down for the exterior.

Even a XC90, at half of its price, is more desirable than this, let alone Range Rover/Cayenne/GLS/X6/Q7. People feel that you are stupid and has got no taste.

My 14-year-old 4.9 V8 has more horses (394bhp) and pull slightly lesser (500Nm).

I have to admit she doesn’t have everything else this big guy has though haha.
