Nissan X-Trail Hybrid on show at 2015 Thai Motor Expo

Launched in Thailand late last month, the Nissan X-Trail Hybrid was on show at the 2015 Thai Motor Expo. The SUV is assembled in Thailand at Nissan’s Bang Na-Trat Road plant in Bangkok, the only location which builds it aside from Japan.

In the Kingdom, the X-Trail Hybrid is available in three variants, these being the 2.0 S 2WD Hybrid, 2.0 E 2WD Hybrid and 2.0 V 4WD Hybrid, with prices reanging from 1.249 million baht (RM150,440) to 1.395 million baht (RM167,908).

The vehicle is powered by a 2.0 litre MR20DD inline four petrol mill offering 144 PS at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm, paired with a seven-speed Xtronic CVT gearbox, with a 41 PS/160 Nm synchronous electric motor providing extra push. Total combined power output of the hybrid powertrain is 179 PS. On pure electricity alone (EV mode), the crossover can hit speeds of up to 120 km/h.

Equipment-wise, all variants feature LED projector headlamps, with the 2.0 E 2WD Hybrid and 2.0 V 4WD Hybrid having an auto on/off function. The two variants are also equipped with an automatic liftgate as well as auto wipers, heated mirrors and front fog lamps. All three variants ride on 17-inch alloys.

Leather seats are to be found across the board on the five-seater (the non-hybrid seats seven) – on the range-topping V, these are black, while that on the other two variants are finished in beige. As standard, all versions get electric powered seats for the driver and front passenger, and the S and E two-wheel drive versions come with a five-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the V gets a seven-inch unit.

Safety kit is made up of four airbags (dual front, sides) on the top two variants (the 2.0 E makes do with two), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Active Brake Limited Slip (ABLS), ABS with EBD and BA, Active Ride Control (ARC), Active Engine Brake (AEB), Active Trace Control (ATC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA).
