Hyundai is introducing its new Genesis luxury sub-brand to the US market at the ongoing Detroit show, and has given the Genesis G90 flagship sedan its North American debut at the Cobo Center. The big limo that aims to take on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Audi A8 and Lexus LS isn’t the only new Genesis product at the show, though.
This is the Genesis G80, which occupies a rung below the G90 in the new brand’s range. If it looks familiar, that’s because the G80 is the Hyundai Genesis sedan, rebadged with the Genesis wing logo and G80 emblems. Not much has changed other than that, and word is that the official switch over to the Genesis G80 name will happen mid-year.
More Genesis announcements are in store at the New York show in March, but for now, a Genesis G70 sedan is set to challenge in the BMW 3 Series class, and there will also be a sports coupe and luxury SUV.
The Hyundai Genesis made its Malaysian debut in June 2015, powered by a 3.8 litre V6 GDI engine that sends 315 PS and 397 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via an eight-speed auto. The large sedan is yours for RM388,922 OTR without insurance.

You must be feeling rather insecure to post 2 negative comments using 2 different names. BTW the Toyota Lexus front grill is fast becoming an object of jokes among car enthusiast. However I’m ok with that. We get to differentiate the blind from the rest in Malaysia.
