Here’s an early look at the facelifted Porsche 911 GT3 ahead of its official debut. Porsche is in the midst of updating its entire 911 range, as last seen on the Turbo and Turbo S versions, and now it’s the track-munching GT3’s turn.
As seen here, it looks like the GT3 has been pegged for a few exterior updates. The front end of the car looks like it has been given a rework, while we imagine that like the rest of the 991.2 range, the GT3 could also get revised front and rear lighting designs.
It’s hard to confirm much further for now, but hearsay has it that the GT3’s powertrain combo will remain as such – pairing a 3.8 litre naturally-aspirated flat-six engine with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch auto transmission. If you’re still not over the fact that the GT3 only comes with a dual-clutch auto, there is a new, no-nonsense 911 R coming that will feature a manual shifter.
Currently, the GT3’s 3.8 litre flat-six makes 475 hp and 440 Nm of torque. It can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 315 km/h. It remains to be seen whether or not these figures will be improved on the new model.
It shouldn’t be too long before the GT3 makes its official debut now – several reports suggest that we could see it appearing at the coming 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
