Audi Q1 SUV gets teased further before Geneva debut

Audi Q1 Q2 teaser 1

In the run up to the Geneva Motor Show, Audi has continued to tease its fourth addition to the Q SUV line-up with two new images. Under those sheets sits the new crossover, which has been widely-tipped to be called the Audi Q1 (or Q2 after Audi secured naming rights).

Although there isn’t much in the way of details, we can roughly see the latest incarnation of Audi’s Singleframe grille, with LED lighting elements on the front and rear lights. The car’s profile itself does appear to match up to the prototypes that were caught testing a while back.

Audi Q1 Q2 teaser 2

Audi say that the upcoming model has undergone four years of development, and will be integrated into the existing assemble line of the Audi A3. As the crossover is positioned below the Q3, so too will its size. That should also make it smaller compared to the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.

Underneath, the Q1 will ride on Volkswagen Group’s modular MQB platform, which is also used on the seventh-gen Volkswagen Golf. Powertrain options should include diesel (TDI) and petrol (TFSI) powerplants, with front- and all-wheel drive being offered.

Gosh one can wonder how small it will be inside since it’s supposed to be smaller than the Q3 which is small to begin with. Any takers if this sells above RM250k?
