The new Suzuki Ertiga has been launched in Thailand. Two variants of the mildly updated seven-seater MPV were revealed there – the standard GL, and the new, sportier Ertiga Dreza.
Assembled in Indonesia, the Ertiga GL is just as we saw it at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show last year (GIIAS 2015). The facelifted model introduces a modified front bumper, grille and fog lamp housings. The rear features new L-shaped tail lights and additional chrome accents, while new wheels were introduced throughout.
As expected, the model’s new face can be seen here, pinned with a sportier side spoiler, rear bumper and even a rear wing. The Dreza also features a set of LED daytime running lights that the regular model lacks, as well as a set of spinning 15-inch alloy wheels. Notably, because of the new front and rear bumpers on the Dreza, the variant is 60 mm longer overall – 4,325 mm to 4,265 mm.
Inside, unique upholstery and trim colours set the two Thai-market variants apart, along with a few items on the equipment list. Being the top-shelf variant, the Dreza gets two additional speakers (tweeters), chromed inside door handles and wood trim across the dash.
The base GL variant still offers decent kit, being a 2-DIN audio head unit with a four-speaker sound system, USB connectivity, front and rear air conditioning vents, reverse parking sensors and a few more items.
Unfortunately, only the Dreza gets ABS and EBD braking systems, and a rear-wing mounted stop light. In both cars, however, usable boot space remains at 482 litres with the third row seats folded, and 736 litres with the second and third row seats folded flat.
For power, both cars offer the same 92 PS/130 Nm 1.4 litre, four-cylinder K-series petrol engine and four-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It may not sound like much, but 92 PS and 130 Nm should motivate the heavier 1,195 kg Dreza along nicely, let alone the 1,185 kg GL.
The standard Ertiga GL variant is priced at 655,000 baht (RM76k) while the sportier Dreza goes for 715,000 baht (RM83k). We know that a Proton-badged Suzuki Ertiga MPV will be launched in Malaysia in the second quarter of 2016. Looking at all we’ve got here, how excited are you about a Proton-badged Suzuki Ertiga? Syukur lah.
Two failures. Proton and Suzuki are going to marry. Hopefully both the failures will produce something. But chances are, Proton and Suzuki will divorce after one year.
Why?
After 1 year, Suzuki will see how lazy the Proton workers are. their whole life lazy, sleeping and wanting a tongkat. Then, the Japanese Suzuki, used to hard work, will get a shock of their lives to see how the Nasi Lemak mentality of Proton workers.
Cerai lah
Komen yg sangat rasis…
Proton please add ESC and reverse camera
76k?! Shud be onli 30k max according to macais! Ini mesti salah Na… oh wai… this in thai….
Wonder how Proton Ertiga rebadge can compete with Rm55k Alza from such price. Sure lots of cut cost hankypanky later on.
Malaysians dun care about safety so can remove ABS, EBD, VSC, HPF metals and leave 2 airbags. They oso dun bother use signals and side mirrors so can cut cost and remove them. Oso they dun like wear seatbelts so remove those too. Walah! 56k alredi can compete with Alza.
76k? buy used Innova or Livina better lo.
Hope it will not be underpower since it 1.4. Maybe it weight around Avanza which used to have 1.3 engine. Imagine if Proton put 1.6 CFE on this MPV, condi very powerful.
OMG~who will buy at this price if proton rebadge this?? to me i wont spend above 55k for this car!!
should rm 45- 55 k
from indon RM76k…ckd in msia should be less..if not confirm cannot sell
sorry to say, alza still win in term of look, spec and price
Yeah, got to agree with you on this.
If this car is intended to go against Alza, it would be a failure as this is overpriced for the high spec. New buyer will definitely go for Exora
Unless they can price it right ( nearly or matched with Alza ) which is impossible as even Thai pricing is that much.
looks like proton never learned from Juara
