VIDEO: Audi RS7 performance – so good, you’ll cry?

Men, when was the last time you shed a tear? Your graduation? The birth of your child? Getting married? The list of things that can make a man cry is certainly diverse, although some might consider it to be an un-macho thing to do. Audi however, thinks it is alright for a man to cry, and it has the most butch of ways to do so.

In a recently-released promotional video titled “Tear Drop,” the RS 7 Sportback performance is the culprit behind the build-up of moisture in a man’s eye. The greatest RS 7 money can be is so fast and exciting that it will literally make the driver (male in this case) cry tears of joy. Human-machine emotional interface? That’s the accelerator pedal.

Pressing down on the pedal unleashes the 4.0 litre TFSI twin-turbo V8 engine and all of its 605 hp and 700 Nm of torque (750 Nm with overboost), good for a 0-100 km/h time of just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of up to 280 km/h (limited). According to the video, that’s more than enough to get a tear drop to trace along the RS 7’s bodywork before being dispatched at a high rate of speed.

We’re guessing more tears will flow once the driver gets to meet a few twisty bends, where the quattro all-wheel drive system keeps things in check, handling the engine’s massive dose of power through an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission. Now, excuse us while we shed a tear for not having an Audi RS 7 Sportback performance of our own.
