Suzuki GSX-S1000 Yoshimura special editions debut

Suzuki has announced the release of two special edition models of the GSX-S1000 ‘A’ and ‘FA’, called the Yoshimura special edition. Drawing on Suzuki’s long relationship with motorcycle performance legend Yoshimura, these two big-bore Gixxers feature a whole host of Yoshimura parts, as well as new graphics, with the addition of components from the Suzuki accessories catalogue.

The list of Yoshimura goodies for the special edition GSX-S1000 includes a Yoshimura R11 exhaust, as well as Yoshimura steering stem nut, timing plug, oil filler cap and bar ends. Other add-ons are wheel rim tape, tank pad, fuel cap trim, paddock stand bobbins, matt black levers, heel plate trim, and a special graphics kit.

Pillion foot-rests are removed for the Yoshimura special edition, as is the rear pillion seat, which is replaced with a seat cowl. Both these deleted items, however, will be included with the sale of the GSX-S1000 so the owner can readily convert the bike back to passenger carrying duty if required.

The GSX-S1000 is powered by a street-tuned version of Suzuki’s four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 999 cc, inline-four engine that has seen legendary service across their superbike range since the mid-2000s. Styled as a naked sports bike, the GSX-S1000 comes in both ABS and non-ABS versions, and traction control and ride-by-wire is standard.

Available in UK Suzuki dealerships in March, the GSX-S1000A Yoshimura special edition retails for 9,799 pounds sterling (RM58,400) without ABS, while the ABS version bumps the price up to 10,299 pounds sterling (RM61,400). The fully-faired GSX-S1000FA version goes for 10,699 pounds sterling (RM63,700).
