A limited edition BMW i3 has been brought about in a collaboration between the German brand and UK online fashion portal, Mr. Porter. The i3 comes with a classy exterior paint that’s likened to a formal evening suit and comes with an exclusive travel kit.
Outside, the gentlemanly EV gets a tuxedo blue paint and a hand-painted white accent that runs across the side – associated to a pinstripe suit. At the front, there’s a stylised ‘Mr Porter’ badge as well. Inside, the i3 comes with wood trim that can be found on the dash, with the words ‘Mr Porter’ engraved to it.
To complete the limited edition, a Mr. Porter Essentials Travel Kit is included. It comprises of a BMW i leather holdall along with four exclusive items from the fashion retailer. Said items include a black and white London undercover umbrella, a special edition Leica camera, Cutler & Gross sunglasses, Lock & Co bowler hat and a bespoke edition of the Phaidon City Guide Book.
No changes have been made to the i3’s powertrain, so, the electric motor in the limited edition model produces the same power output of 170 hp and 250 Nm. With that, the i3 goes from 0-100 km/h in just 7.2 seconds. As for travel range, the EV offers a total of 130 km to 160 km (depending on driving styles).
“At Mr. Porter we give our customers the global best in men’s style across many categories, so this collaboration with BMW, the best in class in the automotive industry, felt like a bold but natural step. We relish the opportunity to be first to market for projects such as this,” said Toby Bateman, MD of Mr. Porter.
Priced at £43,500 (RM261,600) the BMW i3 Mr. Porter edition will be available exclusively in the UK from February 18, 2016 onwards and can be bought off the fashion website itself.
