After the accidental reveal of the 2017 Renault Scenic recently, the French carmaker has now officially released two photos as a pre-launch glimpse of the compact MPV. Furthermore, Renault has provided a little bit more information about the fourth-gen Scenic as well.
For starters, the car will feature a three-part windscreen as you can already tell from the photo, which Renault says “provides a panoramic view and enhanced visibility.” Other visible details include the C-shaped headlights that are of the LED variety on higher-end variants of the Scenic.
The Scenic also boasts a higher ground clearance, wider front and rear track, plus a shorter rear overhang compared to its third-gen predecessor. Design-wise, the MPV was earlier previewed by the Renault R-Space concept from 2011, but with several updates along the years.
On the outside, the Scenic’s design is influenced by Renault’s recent introductions, including the Talisman and fourth-gen Megane, as evident by the large Renault badge, front grille and sculpted hood. Thankfully, the interesting-looking shoulder line of the concept is retained here.
No shots of the interior were provided but it can be assumed that the Scenic will receive the same minimalistic layout and technologies of the Megane and Talisman. This includes the new R-Link 2 infotainment system with a portrait-format 8.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display.
The Scenic rides on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s modular CMF platform, which is also employed on the fourth-gen Megane. Expect hatchback’s engine line-up to be offered on the MPV as well, with diesel and petrol options – ranging from 100 PS up to 205 PS.
