VIDEO: Domino’s DXP Pizza Delivery car in the metal

Remember the cool pizza delivery car from Domino’s? Well, now, the Delivery ExPert or DXP as it’s known as, has received a set of new ads that show it going pedal-to-the metal to get pizzas where they need to be.

The first ad is an introductory video of the DXP and the clever little oven in the back. The second ad – Salt Flats, looks exactly like a promotional video for a brand new car. It illustrates how pizzas can be delivered fresh from the oven to almost anywhere now – even in the middle of the desert, from the looks of it.

To recap, the DXP features the brand’s official red, white and blue colours. Up top, there are roof lights and puddle spotlights that project the company’s logo. What’s really special is the oven in the back, accessible via a key fob, that can keep up to 80 pizzas warm at a time.

Based on the Chevrolet Spark, powering the DXP is a 1.2 litre four-cylinder engine. Drivers are pretty pampered too, as it comes with OnStar Directions and Connections navigation, four speakers and WiFi connectivity. To add to that, it gets safety items such a 10 airbags, ABS, ESC with brake assist, hill-start assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The DXP is the result of a collaboration between Roush Industries and Local Motors. Currently only available in the US, a total of 100 cars will soon be serving freshly heated pies in 25 cities, including Boston, Detroit, San Diego and Seattle.

So guys, while it may not be available here, would you like to see a Domino’s DXP delivering hot pizzas to you if it’s possible?

This’s interesting what’s next? KFC and McD? If in Malaysia ‘satay’ will be the best.

The car is ALL for SHOW!!! Not pratical …Well if domino’s is so generous in giving away FREE Large Pizza voucher for late delivery. I fine with it. The efficient way for fast delivery is still the motorbike.

I thought it was an idea to keep the pizza drivers safe while delivering pizzas. That would be a great car. They have to enter an order number into a key pad and the storage area opens up so the customer can reach in and get their order themselves. That way the driver never has to get out and be robbed or worse. I would love that and it would boost business because everybody would want to experience this service.

The billion dollar name brand pizza companies DONT pay for the auto insurance for their drivers, they don’t ask don’t tell….they depend on the drivers to use their personal car insurance instead and that placed the driver in a dilemma, ALL persona auto policies prohibit business uses and specificallty deliveries…if caught companies like Geico and Farmers are cancelling the personal auto policies of pizza delivery drivers. IF the pizza business would provide auto insurance thru a business auto policy, everything would be legal and protect the drivers. Or the pizza companies can charge 10 cents or a quarter to pay for the auto insurance of their employees. BUT NOOOOO don’t ask don’t tell and put your young driver part-time employees at financial risk. BOOOO
