VIDEO: Abarth 595 Tricolore package introduced in the UK, hotter Abarth 124 Spider teased briefly in sketches

The Abarth 595 tricolour package has been introduced in the UK, along with a new video entitled “The Real Italian Job: The Full Story.” While the new limited edition car – priced at £15,150 (RM88,640) – may be the main star here, the hotter Abarth 124 Spider also makes a brief appearance.

Only 300 of the Tricolore packs will be available to customers, with a choice of red, white or blue. Said pack includes black side stripes, black mirror caps and a set of red brake calipers. There are also 17-inch ‘Formula’ alloy wheels with a titanium finish included.

Inside, not much has been changed, but the most special item would have to be the steering wheel with Tricolore detailing. Standard features include automatic air conditioning, a Blue&Me hands-free system with CD and MP3 functionality and six speakers.

No changes have been made to the engine. So, you get the familiar turbocharged 1.4 litre T-Jet mill, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The Abarth 595 makes a total of 140 hp and 206 Nm of torque, and goes from 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds.

“With just 300 of the Tricolore packs available on the 595s, and at such a great price, we are sure we’ll attract a new wave of Abarth owners to come and join us. The hardest part will be deciding which colour to go for,” said Gerry Southerington, brand manager of Abarth UK.

Also in the video, you may notice that the burglars went through all that trouble to obtain sketches of what looks to be the Abarth 124 Spider. The hotter variant of the Mazda MX-5-based roadster will with likely see its 1.4 litre MultiAir Turbo engine uptuned to about 200 hp.
