Ahead of its expected launch debut in Q2 of 2016, Haval Malaysia has released official specifications for its H2 SUV. The upcoming C-segment SUV will enter the market, where it will square off against the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5.
At last year’s NST-MAI ASEAN Auto Show, we previewed the H2 in its 1.5T 2WD Dignity guise, which will apparently be the sole offering for Malaysians, according to Haval Malaysia. The H2 measures 4,335 mm long, 1,814 mm wide and 1,695 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,560 mm. In terms of dimensions, that makes the H2 smaller when compared to its competition.
As the variant name suggests, the 1,495 kg (kerb weight) H2 is powered by a 1.5 litre 4G15B turbocharged four-cylinder dual-VVT petrol engine that develops 147 hp at 5,600 rpm and 210 Nm of max torque between 2,200 to 4,500 rpm. A six-speed automatic gearbox is mated to the engine, with drive being directed to the front wheels.
On the H2’s exterior, you’ll find automatic halogen headlamps (with LED DRLs), additional LED DRLs located at the bottom corners of the front bumper, a sunroof, electric-folding side mirrors with integrated puddle lamps, rear fog lamps and a shark fin roof-mounted radio antenna.
Inside, the driver has access to a six-way electrically adjustable seat, while the front passenger makes do with a four-way manually adjustable one instead. Leather is used to upholster the seats, as well as the steering wheel with multimedia and cruise control functionality. Other features at the driver’s disposal include a 3.5-inch TFT colour display trip computer, 3D-design instrument cluster, keyless entry and start, reverse camera and reverse radar.
A touchscreen infotainment unit fitted on the centre stack handles your multimedia needs, with various inputs offered (Bluetooth, USB, AUX and MP5). Dual zone automatic air-conditioning (with dust filter) and ambient lighting are part of the equipment list here as well.
As for safety, the H2 impresses with six airbags (front passenger and driver, side curtain, front sides), Electronic Stability Program, and ABS with EBD and BA. The SUV also features a FRH Blind Spot Visual System, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and anti-glare rearview mirror as well.
For now, Haval Malaysia has yet to reveal any details on the H2’s pricing. Furthermore, details on the SUV’s colour options for the interior and exterior were not provided. Based on information on the company’s official website, it appears that the exterior will receive a dual-tone paintjob, with different colours available for the interior’s upholstery and trim pieces as well. Is this an enticing SUV package for you?
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Is it seriously worth it to buy a petrol pickup ?
I dont see anything useful if its petrol… wouldnt diesel engines be better ?
SUV and pickup are in different categories
my bad.. not a pickup *facepalm*
If the price is above RM110k, then good luck and ry harder to Haval. I’ve tried M4 though, really impress with M4. H2? Time will tell……..
No one going to buy a China brand car for RM80k above and its only 1.5 litre engine !
But it is ok to buy a BMW or Honda or Ford with a 1.5 turbo with much higher prices?
Depend on the buyers wealth/extra money to spend. After gst implanted Rakyat are suffering… if Haval marketing set it high price(above RM80k) it will only left it on garage to wait clearance stock !!!
Nice rumors mate.. hahahaha. Proton also sell China brand.
Australia sell H2 from AUD26k (around RM80k) though..
Chinese brand that have ‘dignity’ in its name… I know there some irony in there somewhere!
my thoughts exactly. lol
You are going to lose your dignity driving this, hence the automaker compansates by naming the model as such.
I think the Chinese misspell it someway. It should be “Dicknity” lol.
4G15 ka?
Specs looks good. Quality not sure. If priced above RM100K, better buy X-trail or CX5.
Wnet to Glenmarie showroom, the sales guy had mentioned that price will not more than 95k
hmm… 0-100 might be around 9-10 seconds.
My friend bought the China Chery MPV (Mitsubishi 2.4cc) at RM 80K and after 4 years, the value drop to RM 10K.
If they price this 1.5 cc car more than RM 70K then can ask them to ship back to China for safe keeping.
Did more research on this car & found several Australian report. 0-100kmh is 12sec.

its enticing indeed.
Great wall is a good car brand and has reputable sales in China. BUT they appoint wrong dealer for malaysia market the GO marketing strategy is like shit. They could have double their M4 sales since launch but the delay and un-match spec in car really ruins the sales. Stupid GO management. I heard even their sales agents are so angry about the mother company’s stupid strategy. Shame on GO! I doubt H2 will get good sale as it only using same engine as M4 but with supercharge turbo but with much more heavy body than M4, I guessed FC will be terrible.
FC so far acceptable. 14km/l or around 6.8l/100km
