Toyota Thailand has revealed a new TRD Sportivo variant for the Yaris hatchback, which will makes its debut at the upcoming 2016 Bangkok Motor Show. The new variant introduces some additional features, as well as several visual enhancements.
At the front, the Yaris’ silver grille is now painted black, including its extensions that go all the way down to the bumper’s base. The bumper itself receives a new silver lip element that resembles a faux skid plate, with LED DRLs fitted as well.
The blacked-out exterior trim element continues down the sides of the car as well, with mudguards covering both sets of wheel arches before coming full circle at the rear. The attempt to provide the Yaris with a more ‘active’ persona also includes the addition of silver roof rails, ‘TRD Sportivo’ badging and alloy wheels.
Inside, the Yaris TRD gets black and orange leather seats instead of the standard fabric ones. The colour scheme is applied to the floor mats as well, which also feature ‘TRD Sportivo’ badging, and the door panels.
Elsewhere, the basic audio system has been replaced by a double-DIN unit that has a seven-inch touchscreen with a variety of inputs (DVD, CD, Micro HDMI, SD card and Bluetooth). The screen also doubles as a display for the car’s rearview camera, a new addition here too.
Keep in mind that nearly all the additions here are part of the TRD Sportivo special package, which is a cost option according to Toyota Thailand’s official site. The only thing that comes with the standard car is the black and orange interior (sans the double-DIN unit and reverse camera).
The mechanicals here remain unchanged. Under the hood, the Yaris TRD is powered by a 1.2 litre 3NR-FE four-cylinder Dual VVT-I petrol engine producing 86 PS at 6,000 rpm and 108 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The mill is paired to a Super CVT-i automatic.
As for pricing, the Toyota Yaris TRD Sportivo costs 585,000 baht (RM67,980), but an additional 64,000 baht (RM7,437) is needed to obtain the special TRD Sportivo bits as mentioned above. A private concert with international pop superstar Katy Perry is not part of the deal here.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Pair to a 1.5l engine here and it will go head to head with the Jazz
Iriz
Compare Yaris with the junk Iriz? I just can’t stop laughing.
Dont laugh, you also got one at home. Hahahaha
ThIs sales man owned a saga. Not even iriz lah
As I said, I will give you for free if I have any proton. Come knock my door
I guess the Lady at the poster was Katy Perry? My beloved queen. Opps….,i dint notice what sot of car behind the queen.
RM67K Yaris vs. RM62K Iriz ?
62k Iriz i believed full specs equipped ie 6 airbags, instead of 67k Yaris just basic with 2 airbags.Remember 67k is thai price. If comings to msia it could be 80k-85k.But people now very rich can afford basic car with very low specs (tin kosong),.& we drive slow so no need 6airbags..rite same lorrr?
I prefer yaris model at europe..
The car not real enuff to be sporty
The price is not cheap and only 1.2l. Who said price of cars in Thailand is cheaper than Malaysia?
How to be cheaper than Proton in this protected market ?
That is why P1 pricing their cars just below its competitors.
Larger margin & has the cheek to offer 6k discount.
Who said P1 is protected in tomyam market. Dear Leader kah?
P1 is not protected thus it can’t survive the real competition. No one pay to drive a junk.
Thailand boleh!
No matter how much they wanna spice up the Yaris, it’s still a sampan handling hatch pretending to be sporty.
TRD Psortivo package is the greatest ripped off among all car accesories provided by original delaer/ manufacturer in Malaysia. I still can’t get over it why someone will pay close to a 20k premium for some usless TRD bits on a Vios. Maybe they thought those ugly bodykits and leather seats will add another 300bhp on their so called “god car”. Heck, I rather spend my money on “Chinaman Uncle” ETCM’s Nismo package on the Almera, at least they give you sports tuning suspension plus exhaust and not some pretending cosmetic bits with no substance.
If you want to spice up your Japanese ride, better still, go for after market JDM parts, much cheaper and tons of choice to configure your car.
Remove TRD, put up ” Katy Perry edition”.. invite her over Bolehland 4 promo lah
This is for tomyam, not sate kajang.
You call it sportivo but 1.2cc at 86hp? Laugh laugh laugh.Another junk by Toyota to counter low vios sales.it was not well accepted in Indonesia so they move to tomyam market in believing the brand itself will sell it like cakoi panas. If come to nasi lemak market it will be disastrous to buyer. We all know not all sushi is good rv! Previous Yaris really bad rv.Not to mention bad design sell like high price.Who want to buy 2nd Yaris?Even same lorrr bought p1 saga don’t believe the brand he kipas2
