Those in Johor Bahru will soon be able to opt for private hire car-hailing service via the Grab App. GrabCar has announced that the service will officially be available in JB from tomorrow, April 7 onwards.

“Johor Bahru is poised for great development and we see an avenue for us to introduce our services as an affordable alternative transportation option to the people of Johor Bahru,” said Jaygan Fu, country manager of Grab Malaysia.

Fu also shared the new added features that will be available to those in JB, too. Features include 24/7 customer service (for both driver and passenger), an emergency PDRM button, along with a location sharing feature that allows friends and family to keep track of a passenger’s whereabouts.

“In addition, GrabCar also recently introduced an insurance policy that covers both passengers and drivers and to top it off, our top performing female drivers are part of a pilot in-car CCTV initiative to enhance the safety of both passengers and drivers,” Fu explained.

As always, GrabCar operates on a fixed-fare basis, which allows passengers to see their fare price up front, before they travel. Passengers can opt to pay for their ride via cash or credit/debit card, if they wish.
