Just launched recently in Malaysia, the 2016 F87 BMW M2 coupe – retailing locally at RM498,800 – now has a new stablemate from BMW’s M Division. No, it’s not a bigger engine variant, in fact it doesn’t have an engine at all.
New for 2016 is the BMW Cruise M Bike Limited Edition, which comes in Long Beach Blue metallic, a perfect match for the F87 M2 coupe. Produced in a limited production run of only 1,500 units at a price of 1,400 euro (RM6,160), this hard-tail cruiser has suspension forks in front, mated to a rigid aluminium frame.
Rolling on 28-inch wheels, the BMW Cruise M Bike also comes in a Cruise model without the ‘M’ designation and the fancy paint colour, and is cheaper at 995 euro (RM4,380), 405 euro (RM1,782) less. There is also an e-bike version that has a top speed of 25 km/h, using a 400 W/h battery, and will set you back 3,100 euro (RM13,650).
Additionally, a standard issue Cruise M Bike is part of the Cruise Bike range, at a price of 1,200 euro (RM5,280). There are three frame sizes available – S to suit riders 160 cm in height, M for those at 170 cm and above and L for riders standing 180 cm tall. For the young ones, BMW sells the Cruise Bike junior at 450 euro (RM1,980).
