Mitsubishi Triton Knight Edition – 120 units, RM122k

Triton-Knight-Edition-04

As shown yesterday, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has a new special edition Triton. Named the Mitsubishi Triton Knight Edition, the white Knight takes over the baton from MMM’s previous special Triton, the black-themed Phantom Edition. That local special was limited to 200 units; the Knight will be more exclusive with 120 examples.

Like the Phantom, the Triton Knight is based on the top-spec Triton VGT Adventure (178 PS and 400 Nm from a 2.5L variable geometry turbodiesel) and packs on extra equipment. Available only in Pearl White, the Knight comes with matte black 17-inch alloys, a matte black grille and a rear bumper with the same non-glossy finish.

Also in are a front bumper extender, sports bar with sports lid and body stickers. The latter includes ‘KNIGHT’ lettering above the grille and on the tailgate. Inside, black leather seats with ‘Knight’ embroidered on the front seat backs are present.

The Triton VGT Adventure’s standard equipment apply, so one gets things such as HID headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, keyless entry with push start, tilt/telescopic steering, manual mode with paddle shifters, 2-DIN touchscreen head unit with reverse camera, auto headlamps/wipers and dual-zone auto air-con.

Priced at RM122,487 OTR excluding insurance, MMM is offering two years of fully free maintenance with a RM2,000 cash rebate or free labour with a RM4,000 cash rebate. The factory warranty is for three years or 100,000 km.

    • I know right. Those huge ‘KNIGHT’ stickers are especially pointless and daft.

So basically it’s a White Version of Phantom with few different in wording on the front bonnet and seats. I wonder why it’s far more expensive than PHANTOM Edt ???????????
