Remember the Proton Iriz Active Concept, the raised-up, grey and orange design study shown back in 2014? Now, we have the Proton Suprima Active Concept, with a similar styling execution. The car has been unveiled at the ongoing My Auto Fest. The done-up Iriz is also on display next to it.
The C-segment hatchback receives a full crossover-style bodykit, complete with all-around body cladding. Orange appears prominently on the gloss grey Suprima Active (instead of the Iriz Active’s matte grey), with the bright shade highlighting the front grille, headlamp projector rings, front intake outline, roof, wing mirrors, side skirts and rear garnish.
As in the Iriz Active, this new concept has a raised ride height to accentuate the crossover look, increasing the ground clearance from the standard 155 mm to 207 mm. Interestingly, there’s mention of a six-speed manual transmission option for the Active, aside from the regular CVT.
The car sits on 17-inch turbine wheels, also with orange highlights. Also on, silver “roof rails” (purely cosmetic) and matte grey stickers, which complete the Active’s exterior makeover.
On the inside, beige, rather than orange highlights, can be found. Tan leather is featured on the steering wheel grips, door card inserts and the reupholstered seats. Orange, meanwhile, can be seen on the air-con vents and the centre console buttons surrounds.
Proton says the pair of Active concepts “signifies a potential entry into the growing crossover market, with specialised re-engineering to satisfy customers who want a higher driving positon, improved ride and handling and lifestyle options.” So, what do you think of this, folks?
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
AWD ada tak?
AWD???? dream on my friend…
Sources told me the rear wheels will be powered by 2 seperate electric motors with 45hp each. Is a hybrid car.
Dream on my friend!!!. the sources are full Blown BS artists….
looks like a normal supreme with orange bits…
cars for tossers!
Use existing car change steering wheel body kits this and that, then it become concept. LOL
Yeah tell that to other automakers
Just like beautiful girl, it’s not how much makeup she puts on, but it’s what in side the hole…that matters ( engine bay) Magma 1.3……kah??? Phooey!
At least with AWD feature, hatch back + SUV feature then call crossover.
Just adjust the height, add orange color on certain part already call crossover? LOL
This joke is on par with P2 joke that 2tone color call as facelift, muahahhahaha…
Mana current crossover ada AWD, wey!?
Subaru xv, Volvo xv Dan banyak lagi.
dah macam shiet jgn la tambah lagi shiet. damn it fugly.
Who cares, concept is not end product
Good Job Proton, GLC Merz alike car. Put turbo and can match with Honda already
What you talking about, potong already same as Honda after put the thundercat logo on accord.
Ops, it suppose better that than since ministers say potong performance same as BMW and safety same as Volvo! Lol
Yeah TGDI Turbo 180Hp 250Nm ftw!
Bashing backfired!
You misunderstaood it, go and read it back
Can match with honda? That is what we called the power of wet dreaming.
Last time torque wise ady beat most jepunis n/a 2.0l engines
change exterior and interior and call it crossover concept. i bet anyone can modify this suprima using aftermarket stuff available widely and call it the next big thing. little effort, big target.
please priority your safety feature. exterior is not nice for me….
Aftermarket stuff no need to undergo any test whatsoever. Try put your aftermarket bodykit then go evaluate by yourself
Bradder Betul,
RM1.5 Billion dah gasak…..Protong produce all these shit and crap( called SAC in short)?
No retrenchments yet……enjoy Roti Jala mah.
Tun already gone,now party time….all night long….
Next year, still got losses…ask for another “soft loan”…perhaps from saudi santa.
ASIA’s worst performing car manufacturer AWARD 2015…..IS …..PROTONG.
TAK MALU……mentality lebih teruk daripada

Bond
What a imaginative design!
No its not. They just add on a few bits n coloured them… yet nothing said about what transpires as better handling…!
Good job proton , i loved it
I don’t no you guys ,but i think concept car should reflect next future design concept. All i see is more carry over parts.
Dear All, look no further, our product is one of the best C segment in the market, and this concept will make others competitor crying like a baby. The power of 1.5b Tongkat.
Yeah tell that to such protongkat in China USA Japan Korea etc
Stupid ie,
Yes,other gomen give only tongkat ONCE or twice at the most to their car manufacturers.
Proton here has been asking for Rm14 B of tongkat non stop ,and lately another 1.5 B tongkat.
It is like a ZIKA infected baby, asking for non stop help from mummy.
The curse of everlasting perlindungan….TONGKAT SAMPAI MAUT.
More than twice. And p1 got loan, not free
Luckily told is a concept…
for proton concept will not going for production. same goes to previous concept for iriz.
Active? flash flood-proof car confirmed
Preve active?
Grey with orange line is nice but too much orange spoiled the overview…
PROTON, just the damn six-speed manual transmission already. Remember 1 year ago post. and 3 year ago Australian market advert video. http://paultan.org/2015/05/26/proton-suprima-s-6mt-spotted-uk-market/
this is what proton car crossover? you can get tonnes of body kits in Sunway and get new tyres and rims and make better car than this ugly thing.. is this what proton comes up with RM1.5B????? your bosses have lots of explanations to people after you are gone bust. I have seen Suprima cars on the road with much better looking aftermarket work. what are you thinking proton???????
6 speed MT and 7 speed AT also can get after market.. 4WD or AWD also can be modified after market with huge cost.. ‘Dad’ already told if you earn 1.5b, not spend it all and save the big portion for the future..
Yeah all can get aftermarket, as p1 basher said like airbags VSC TC. All can be installed later
Plus you can raise up the ground clearance higher than any Hilux, lol
6 speed MT or 7 speed AT after market also can get with huge cost.. Around myr7k to 15k.. Slightly cheap if used item..
If the manual transmission is really on, it should be a pretty decent drive. Sad to say that the proton’s CVT is really hopeless. I suppose that they chose Punch CVT to keep overall cost down but when this affects drivability and ruins the power train experience, you are not going to sell many cars or be able to put out a product that competes effectively and this is the major problem for proton together with the after sales and service.
It is already more torquey than most n/a 2.0l jepunis engines here
too many “concepts”. Proton must do more product development on current models, facelift required more often.
This is more like it.. Suprima active ‘AWD’ should be..
Active Alltrack
What’s the point?
One way to spend a handful of that 1.5b soft loan.
You should ask other automakers too
The wheel should be bigger than present active.. Over fender, bigger wheel arches with 17″x 10jj rims and 225/65 tyres.. SUV CROSSOVER.. more likely
only wasting time & money if its just for show. do something useful and make it to market please..
Dun waste your time cooomenting here, better do overtime work and gain more money
over the top.
this is just a pimp SuprimaS.
not sure if P1 understand the concept of “concept car”.
Yeah like all those crossover on road just a pimp up sedan
crossover with? those 30 years ago toyota wagon selling bread?
Until now Toyota wagon selling bread look alike, lol
can go off-road or not?
Why is Proton copying the Citroen DS3?
Nowadays everyone do copy pasta
1. Proton is trying to make Suprima chassis from loosing more money. This is to gain market share from Subaru XV segment. Revive whole design package might helps.
2. This concept have a few flaws by just looking at it’s exterior execution.
3. Internal wise, Proton may not have an “active” engine that meets future requirement or “active” engineering (unless inject with Suzuki Jimny / Vitara DNA)
Hopefully Proton can produce for sale Proton SUV crossover using this Proton Suprima S platform.. Good idea & good job..
It looks very promising, Proton should consider putting this into production. This could be something like the Audi Allroad, Volvo V40 Cross Country or Nissan X-Gear… minus the 4WD of course, because that would demand an all-new drivetrain and lets face it, the hopeless Punch VT3+ CVT will be a huge liability off-road anyway… it will probably stall every few minutes. A normal stickshift will be far more useful… it will be easier to modulate power delivery. Also, the CamPro Turbo has some turbo-lag… it has 205Nm of torque, yes, but that’s only if the boost is active.
In shorter words, Proton can’t make the Suprima S a true off-roader, but they can certainly make it a ‘lifestyle’ or ‘urban’ off-roader… like most popular SUVs these days. The HR-V might look ganas a bit… but a Suzuki Jimny will decimate it off-road, any day of the week. haha
So aside from a slightly taller car, how’s this a crossover again?
Woooow….so much wooooow. This is the CONCEPT of the future. This is what Merc and BMW will come up with in 10 years time but Proton has already done it.
This thing is the same story with the Toyota Rush. Got no AWD powertrain but everyone gladly calls it an SUV because a spare wheel sticking on the rear tailgate. Proton please your concept is good but without any technical and mechanical changes it’s not practical enough to be called a concept crossover.
