Honda Malaysia (HM) has issued a recall for 58,140 units in Malaysia made between 2011 and 2013, as per the list above. It is to replace the Takata driver airbag inflator in affected cars with newly produced inflators.
The recall is a proactive measure taken by HM to ensure safety, and it affirms that all models currently on sale are not affected by the issue.
All affected customers will be informed via a letter, which will include details of the product update (HM’s term for recall). Those who receive the letter are advised to send their vehicles to the nearest Honda dealer for inspection. Replacement work will be carried out once parts are ready. Parts and labour costs will be borne by the company.
It is imperative that vehicles owners check if their vehicles are listed as part of any product recalls by Honda Malaysia by referring to the official product update page, here. The page will also guide you on how to look for your vehicle’s VIN number, which is required to check if your vehicle is affected.
Owners can also check their vehicle’s status by calling Honda’s toll-free number 1800-88-2020 or by visiting any Honda dealership.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
This is a good step forward judging from the amount of complaints on their facebook page
Responsible car manufacturer: We will change it no matter how many were sold, how long they had been sold. Bravo!
Yeah right. Announce a recall to protect itself, then make customers wait for months for replacement parts. Service center people will allocate an inconvenient time for working owners to bring their cars there. Don’t like the time? Wait another half a year then. People like you are so blinded by the brand that you’re willing to overlook the millions of cars recalled around the world, only after several deaths. This is your definition of a responsible car manufacturer?
Why no recall on mitsubishi? Or mitsubishi playing dumb and sweeping under carpet again
Beli jgn x beli.
before 1st victim get killed, Honda Malaysia said Malaysia’s Honda is not affected!!
The first ever victim was in Malaysia actually
This airbag recall is ridiculous. While recalling, all new cars continue using the same defective airbags, and in line for future recall. Why are manufacturers allow to sell defective safety feature that actually kills?? After a few more years, we would be seeing recall for 2016 and 2017 cars. So Takata continues manufacturing defective airbags, or clearing their production backlog, for profit and without passenger safety in mind. So much for a company supposed to prevent death when car accident occurs.
Already request for replacement. After a month, no call, no email returned. bruh
So, while waiting for replacement which takes forever and somebody died again due to this airbag what will happen?
Imagine if Proton did this. I can guaranty that Najib and Rosmah name will be on the comment section. LOL
It’s hard to find a smart basher nowdays.
