Mercedes-Benz has teased the arrival of the new S213 E-Class Estate, which is set to make its world premiere on June 6, 2016. The German carmaker recently uploaded a sketch of the imminent model on its official Facebook page as a start, along with the tagline ‘Intelligent (E)state-of-the-art’.
Not much info was disclosed with the posting, but from earlier spyshots of the “T-Modell,” expect a majority of the W213 E-Class’ design cues to feature here. The only difference here is, the long-roofed version will sport a different rear-end, with wraparound tail lamps that appear to be similar to those found on the S205 C-Class Estate.
The next-gen E-Class Estate will also likely be available in two versions – a standard and an All-Terrain version. The latter, as the name suggests, should be better geared to deal with more unforgiving terrain. A higher ground clearance and protective panels are indicators of this.
As for powertrains, expect the W213 E-Class sedan’s offerings to be featured on the estate as well. This includes a range of diesel and petrol engines, equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s latest 9G-Tronic torque converter automatic transmission. The German marque may introduce more engine variants to the E-Class’ line-up during the unveiling of the S213.
Tech-wise, the S213 will likely gain many of the W213’s equipment, including the dual 12.3-inch display screens that form the instrument panel, latest-gen COMAND Online system, Car-to-X communication (car-to-car communication) and Drive Pilot, the brand’s autonomous driving system
