Aside from being a three-time Formula 1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton also happens to be a pretty talented actor. In a promotional video for the brand-new Mercedes-AMG GT R, the Brit discovers that no matter where it goes, the Beast always brings a bit of The Green Hell with it.
In the video, we get to see Hamilton pilot the GT R around its spawning ground known as the Nurburgring, a real “jungle” of a place. Suffice to say, the experience behind the wheel is enough to leave Hamilton shocked, amazed and more importantly, leaves him wanting to have another go.
Who can blame him? With a 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 producing 577 hp and 699 Nm of torque under the hood, the GT R is already a pretty tempting proposition. If that isn’t enough, there are several visual and aero enhancements adapted from the GT3 race car to make the “race car for the streets” even more irresistible.
The best part is, when you need to take things down a notch to pick up your girl for a date (as Lewis demonstrates), the GT R can turn docile. However, at a moment’s notice, the “Beast of the Green Hell” is ready to reveal its true colours again. Looks like Hamilton’s expedition to seek it out was worthwhile after all.
