RapidKL has announced that the LRT Ampang Line will experience a temporary closure on July 7, 8 and 16, from 6am until 12am. This is to facilitate upgrading works for the train signalling system.

According to a statement published by RapidKL, the upgrade will allow commuters to travel seamlessly from the Putra Heights station (KJ37/SP31) to the Sentul Timur station (SP1), without interchanging at the Sri Petaling station (SP18).

During the suspension of the service, RapidKL will provide a free shuttle bus service between the LRT Ampang Line stations and the Pasar Seni bus hub. The bus service will run from 6am to 12am with a frequency of 15-30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

I knew it. Their so-called launch was for a system that isn’t fully ready. Structurally, they’re ready, but systems-wise, they’re not. I sure hope MRT won’t hoodwink us commuters come December…
