Aston Martin opens temporary dealer on Jln Ampang

Several months after newly-appointed distributor Wearnes said it would, the company has finally opened the doors to its temporary Aston Martin showroom in Kuala Lumpur.

The 204 Jalan Ampang facility, a former Volkswagen dealership, was supposed to begin operations before the end of last year, while a permanent showroom in the Golden Triangle was being built with an April opening date – so we’re guessing those plans have now definitely been pushed back.

Aside from the showroom – which received its first car, a Vanquish, as early as June – Wearnes has also opened a temporary service centre in the Lingui Industrial Park in Sungai Buloh. Prospective customers can call for a viewing appointment at the showroom at 03-2161 2221, while owners can make service appointments at 03-6157 6993.

Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur also has a website which lists the core Vanquish, DB9, Vantage and Rapide models, as well as the new DB11. There’s no sign of the hardcore Vantage GT8 and GT12 models, the gorgeous limited-edition Vanquish Zagato, the track-only Vulcan or the Lagonda Taraf sedan, although we’re pretty sure if sir has the cash…

i just passed thru the showroom. looks really really temporary. more like, someone’s garage than a showroom. very bare, with the exception of a car (the vanquish?) and nothing else.

but being a luxury brand like that, maybe they can say that they are minimalist.

British products wouldn’t last long in Malaysia or other countries for that matter, except maybe RR (oh forgot, sold to MW already).

They seem to be big regionally – but my impression of Wearnes in Malaysia is a wannabe small-time car dealer with a misspelled name. Doesn’t inspire any confidence whatsoever. And now with ‘temporary’ dealership. Well.
