These two units of Lexus ES 250 Luxury that you see here are limited edition colours that Lexus Malaysia launched in Malaysia in June 2016. The limited edition cars are limited to 25 units for each colour – Deep Blue Mica (dark blue) and Sleek Ecru Metallic (champagne).
On the interior, the limited edition cars feature an exclusive matte-finish Bamboo interior trim, an upgrade from the Birdseye Maple featured in the regular ES. The Bamboo trim is paired with the Topaz Brown interior colour scheme you see here.
Powering the ES 250 Luxury is a 2.5 litre 2AR-FE Dual VVT-i engine producing 181 horses and 235 Nm of torque. It drives the front wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox. Other than the unique colours, everything is as per the regular ES 250 Luxury.
As such, it carries the same price tag of RM293,900 OTR without insurance, which sits in the middle of the ES range, between the RM275k ES 250 Premium and the RM371k ES 300h.
The ES 250 Luxury is differentiated from the Premium with the following items – low and high LED headlamps, a powered boot, ambient lights, navigation, a higher spec “Electro Multi-Vision” central screen with Remote Touch Controller, manual door sunshades (powered rear sunshade standard for all), Lexus Premium Audio, semi-aniline leather, driver cushion length adjuster, passenger seat shoulder adjustment switch and memory seats for the front passenger (Premium: driver only).
Safety wise, the ES comes with 10 airbags, ABS/EBD, VSC, Hill Start Assist and a tyre pressure warning system as standard, but the Luxury adds on the Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Bamboo instead of oak or other often-used wood. Creative, innovative and definitely Asian-identity. Good job guys.
But the interior color is so yucko…!
No comparison with proton here in this topic?
Cuz perdana winrar in interior colour, so cannot compare
interior quality looks top notch. but would anyone go for this instead of a 5-series?
Yes. For someone who has the money and already have a 5er or an e class. This will be added to their garage collection. And perhaps a Jaguar or Infiniti. No problem since they can afford it
Anyone that has the experience of multiple month long workshop repair on the beemer or benz will opt for the Lexus
what is going on with the colour scheme here dude?!?!?
EXACTLY … i have the same thoughts on the color combi … O M G !!!
This is a great car however is pricing is too high in malaysia. I remember this ES250 Luxury used to be around Rm278K OTR without insurance(2015 price in malaysia) now it is RM293,900. Wtf man…
UMW…………
Yes, what greedy UMW is trying to do is to price this near the C Class as it might appear with uncles that want something bigger and more comfortable since it aims to become a retirement car those who don’t fancy maintaining an E Class in the long term.
I don’t fancy this car at all, but i did get a test drive last year and was quite amazed with its NVH suppression and its performance given that it is a tarted up Camry. Fuel consumption though, in Sport mode was pretty bad.
Firstly this car is more expensive than actually more expensive than C250, yes I checked out the car last year too, performance did sort of amazed me because the numbers looked quite low but it really zooms when you pedal it harder. NVH is good, I agree. The interior was the best when I compared to last year’s W212 E-Class. The Lexus Premium 8-speaker however is not as good as mercedes’ speakers. In the ES, despite going through some tuning, the sound always comes from the front, at the back you’ll only hear the loud subwoofer. I think if UMW keep the price down at 250k. With really comfy interior. good looks, decent performance(it doesn’t feel underpowered). It’s a steal..
Love the exterior paint but don’t like the steering combo with wood…and they still can’t sell those 25 units yet?
Interior colour reminds me of skool desk. Geli brown
That Paint job!!!
paint is paint. cant hide the look of a pricey camry.
in my opinion sometimes lexus overly done on something such as this limited edition. unique? yes. will people buy it? i don’t know..
Apalah….beli jerman terus la…ini…..tak baloi
Next
….
Interior looks very dated in comparison to its competitor. Too many buttons and very clunky looking. Sleek is not a word this car can ever be associated with
Its a huge car with a littel under power, should it around 200++ n torque around 300+, its an ideal car, nice exterior n interior though
One does not need a wide power band engine when he has 8 speed gearbox at hand. Have you tried driving it? Seriously …go. also can test any bmw cars and Jaguar (both now having 8 speed automatic gearboxes)
the oranggy tint of the interior made it looks cheap…..
ES is a joke in everyway. Especially the performance and exterior . Never regret choosing C class instead of this. Bruh Lexus!
They will surely struggle to sell these mere 50 units
don’t be surprised that there are at least 50 of ’em who think that Lexus is a better shxt than ze German, will buy this shxt
I’m quite sure that there are at least 50 people that are perfectly satisfied with a car that has a designed top speed of 110km/h.
might be a stupid value ,expesive and totally worthless , but those colors and interior trims really look class and up scaled…u can always count on Lexus on making special interiors…but 300k for a Na 2.5 camry engine is scandalous!
that is the reason why Lexus offer the 300h, tried and tested hybrid synergy drive, it is only at 371k
The same engine from current camry hybrid, and somemore 371k so expensive.
Really ugly interior colours! I wouldn’t touch it at all… BMW or Audi interior way much better than this Japan made car
Nothing but a glorified Camry
Finally a Camry with 10 airbags
As long as its not a kimchi, it will have RV
Luxury with good safety, refinement, reliability and RV
Lexus should lower their price. Maybe compete at Volvo level – that would make more sense.
Proton and perodua pushed vios price high. Vios push corolla altis. Altis push camry price. Camry push Lexus CT. Lexus CT push IS price higher. IS pushed ES and GS higher. The blame is on proton and perodua
Prolonged exposure to geli-geli colour scheme of interior could cause deterioration of personal taste.
Good job to Paul for stepping in to the Weekend Editor role. We can enjoy auto news 7 days a week now.
i would say its a good buy for those ppl whos sick and tired of conti cars who would like to go for a more spacious and more high quality finish materials and less problematic conti’s.
Haha what are you, from the 80s?
suit old uncles
Go book now
Burn the interior, beat the exterior!
Beige color is way better than this Bamboo.
Just wonder why ppl buying this Camry 2.5 with Lexus logo?
Who still remember Camry 2.0G X version? The interior colour remind me on that car and with add on stuff with the little price hike.
