VIDEO: 2016 Toyota Sienta previewed in new films

Official distributor UMW Toyota Motor has previewed the upcoming 2016 Toyota Sienta twice already – first at My Auto Fest 2016, then at its concept store at the Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA. Now, the company has released two videos detailing the quirky seven-seat MPV ahead of its launch this month.

The exterior film brings to light a few key features, including the bi-LED headlights, LED tail lights with light guides, 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels, keyless entry, push-button start and twin electric sliding doors, all of them exclusive to the range-topping 1.5V variant.

The video also talks about the Sienta’s drivetrain, which consists of a new 2NR-FE 1.5 litre Dual VVT-i four-cylinder engine making 107 PS at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm at 4,200 rpm, mated to a CVT with seven virtual ratios. Also mentioned are the car’s standard-fit safety features, including three airbags (one for the driver’s knees), ABS, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRC) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC).

Meanwhile, the interior video focuses on the Sienta’s features available onboard, including a three-dimensional, dual-tier dashboard, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a high-mounted Optitron instrument cluster with a 4.2 inch colour TFT LCD multi-info display and automatic air-conditioning with rear blower – again, many of these features are only available on the 1.5V.

The video also zeroes in on the car’s practical aspects, including its ease of entry into the second and third rows – bolstered by a low floor height and assist grips on the B- and C-pillars. There’s also a one-touch tumble feature for the second-row seats and a dive-in feature for the third row – the latter stows in the space under the second row, allowing for a flat load bay.

Elsewhere, there are plenty of storage spaces, including an under seat tray to stow your belongings, while a cooled upper glove box keeps your drinks chilled.

Pricing has already been revealed since June – the base 1.5G variant is priced at RM92,900, while the range-topping 1.5V retails at RM99,900. Both prices are on-the-road with insurance, inclusive of a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.

The Toyota Sienta will go on display on the Sienta Mobile Truck, which will be touring around the Klang Valley, stopping at selected locations in Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and Petaling Jaya – visitors can take part in contests to win prize. The full list can be seen above.

At close to rm100k,there are many alternative choices out there.
Whether new or preowned, all cars DEPRECIATE.
AS OIL PRICES do not seem to recover the next 3 years,Bolehland’s economy is still SPIRALLING downhill…..
Be careful of those distributors who can arrange 100percent loans without downpayment.
Beli je….the USUAL GIMMICK of P1 salesman.
Thousands of buyers are now in BANKRUPT BLACK LIST for failure to service cars loans.
    BETTER be safe than sorry.
If u dont have such a big head, dont wear such a BIG hat….a wise Chinese saying.

  • Like the practicality of storage spaces and access plus thumbs up for flexibility in seating configuration. The exterior look is however divisive and will play a crucial part in buyer decision. A big let down is the price. Should be at least 10k cheaper even after GST and NAP policy requirements have been taken into account considering that this is a small-sized van with 1.5 litre engine. The price will be the ultimate limiting factor for sales numbers.

At the end of the day, your pocket determine everything. You can keep bashing whatever, but people who want to buy it, let it be. It’s their money. These low life, too much talking but cannot even afford the base model???

The selling point for this is the electronic sliding doors, 5+2 seats and quirky looks.

Current Honda Freed owners can rejoice!
Really, the sliding doors make all the difference.
