Next to the Honda Jazz RS CVT Special Edition we showed you earlier sat another eye-catching variant of an existing Honda. PT Honda Prospect Motor launched the Honda HR-V Mugen at GIIAS 2016, which as its name suggests, wears a range of original Mugen accessories.
The Mugen pack for Honda’s compact SUV includes a front grille with the famous logo, front under spoiler, side skirts, rear under spoiler, tailgate spoiler, Mugen emblems on the front wings and subtle Mugen side stickers in the tuner’s red-gold-grey colours. The look is completed with 17-inch Mugen alloy wheels.
The Mugen package is available on two Indonesian HR-V variants: the 1.5L E CVT (the HR-V is available here with a 1.5 litre engine and six-speed manual) and the range-topping 1.8L Prestige. Three colours are available – White Orchid Pearl, Rallye Red and Crystal Black Pearl.
Mugen variants also come with what the local Honda arm calls the Premium Entertainment System (PES). The regular head unit is swapped with an eight-inch floating AV system, so called because the large screen protrudes from the dashboard, allowing for a bigger screen size than the regular 2-DIN slot. The touchscreen system is Bluetooth and HDMI compatible.
The 120-watt PES comes with eight speakers and uses neodymium magnets and two-way co-axial rear speakers (six-speaker, 50-watt, ferrite magnets in the standard sound system). The Honda HR-V Mugen is priced at 326.4 juta rupiah (RM100,587) for the 1.5L and 398.8 juta rupiah (RM122,784) for the 1.8L.
Mugen goodies for the HR-V – something for Honda Malaysia to think about?
