Renault Fluence Formula Edition launched – RM127k

Renault Fluence Formula Edition 1

Official Renault distributor TC Euro Cars has unveiled a new limited edition of the Fluence sedan. Called the Renault Fluence Formula Edition, the new variant commemorates Renault’s return to Formula One as a works team, in the lead up to the 2016 Malaysia Grand Prix on October 2.

The Formula Edition retails at RM126,688 on-the-road without insurance, some RM6,800 more expensive than the regular Fluence in top-spec Dynamique trim. For that, you get a five-piece bodykit, reverse sensors (the Fluence only has a reverse camera) and French tricolore stripes, while the interior receives gloss black trim and maroon leather upholstery.

The 17-inch two-tone alloys remain, but the grey bits have been substituted for gloss black. Elsewhere, kit count stays the same, and includes features like keyless entry, push-button start, cruise control, an R-Link infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen, USB and Bluetooth, automatic air-conditioning, rear air vents, six airbags and stability control.

Under the bonnet, the Formula Edition is identical to any other Fluence, so a 2.0 litre four-cylinder engine – derived from the previous Nissan Sylphy – produces 143 hp at 6,000 rpm and 195 Nm of torque at 3,700 rpm. It’s paired with an X-Tronic CVT, enabling the Fluence to hit 100 km/h in 10.1 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 195 km/h. It’s claimed to average 7.7 litres per 100 km (13.0 km/l).

Available only in Black Metallic or White Pearl, the Fluence Formula Edition comes with a five-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer’s warranty as well as a five-year free service package, as with the standard Fluence.

Tan Chong sop. Add useless bodykit and called it by sporty name. Useless management. Useless company as a whole. Cheapskate and tries to cheat customer.

      F1 Renault = add sticker
      Nismo Nissan = add bodykit
Impul Nissan = add bodykit but suspension is optional and power is the same

At this price, probably people will be looking for sunroof + turbo 7.5 seconds to pay this kind of price for a C-segment Renault.
VW Passat maybe ok at this price.

Special editions are important for luxury or ultraluxury brands/models, not a Renault; I would want a special Edition188 Renault sportscar if it can achieve century sprint in 1.88 seconds and is famous for that.

Another proof of Tan Chong backward thinking, failed attempt at selling car. Only knows how to make body kit and never offers any real substances to consumer. Offers multiple rip off choices instead. Can’t even give a reverse camera for Fluence. A car cost Rm120k and no reverse camera. Even a cheapo Myvi or Bezza comes with reverse camera.

They have shamed the good name of Nissan and now they are doing the same for Renault.

Either they need to fire those old man in TC or the principals should fire TC and find a better partner or come directly.

just decals, not worth it to pay that premium.

Guess what? it must be the idea from the same person in Tan Chong that handles Nissan tune by impul.

Formula edition LOL, no changes in performance, only stickers. Bloody hell no reverse sensors in original model, now only adding. Truly not expected for a RM130K car.

Save the 127K, buy 2010 F10 328i,its cheaper, more powerful. No bullshit , If you cant afford roadtax, get the 2.0 version – more cheaper , will definitely make you smile everyday to work.

  • Tan Chong was great at doing that with Nissan Sentra. It was reincarnated many times over.
Applying the same fomula wont wokr this time. Anyways Good Luck TC Euro

  • Seriously, is TC EuroCar for real? IMHO, for RM127K, they should have at least provided thicker front and rear Ultra Racing sway bars, K&N Drop-Filters, 18′ rims with 235-45-18 Y rated tires, front & rear bumper sensors, Remapped ECU and TCU, it would make some sense….Putting cheapskate spoilers, leather interior and expecting such a high premium, I guess the ‘folks’ at TC Eurocar must have been ‘snorting’ way too much of the ‘powder’ to conjure up a crazy price point, for a ‘jumbled up’ product……good luck…!!!
