Rally driver and YouTube star Ken Block has returned with his latest in a long line of videos showcasing car control, close calls and plenty of tyre smoke. Armed with a 600 hp/900 Nm Ford Focus RS RX prepared in the UK by race-winning rally motorsport outfit M-Sport, this car is similar to the one Block campaigns in the World Rallycross Championship.
The Gymkhana video series is now in its ninth instalment, and following the extravagance of the last running in Dubai, Gymkhana Nine brings is said to bring the recipe back to basics, somewhat. Set against an industrial backdrop, the relatively raw surroundings of Buffalo, New York including its warehouses and waterfront offers a contrast to the Arab scenery of Gymkhana Eight.

Pointless. Sebastian Loeb has massacred the competition with clean efficient lines. Formula One has never bothered doing this. The only people who love drifting are those who don’t understand physics, see themselves as automotive engineering wizards (when all they do is soup up and overpower cars), and tyre manufacturers. Efficiency rules.
