VIDEO: BMW’s The Escape short film trailer is here

BMW has finally released the official trailer for its upcoming short film – The Escape – which brings backs Clive Owen as “the Driver.” The new film is a revival of BMW’s The Hire series that was produced in the early 2000s.

Aside from Owen, the film also stars Dakota Fanning (War of the Worlds, The Twilight Saga), Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, The Wolf of Wall Street), and Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel, The Conjuring). Neill Blomkamp of District 9 and Elysium fame, is the director for The Escape.

Details on the film’s plot have yet to be announced but it appears “the Driver” has been hired to transport Fanning somewhere, while being pursued by a team of baddies led by Jon Bernthal. Plenty of action, explosions and mayhem ensues as you can see in the trailer.

The Escape will premiere on Sunday, October 23 on the BMWFilms.com website, but ahead of its reveal, why not relive the exciting moments of The Hire series below?

Instead of BMW wasting money doing all this films, why don’t they channel the money into giving cheaper cars to their buyers?

    • Why would they want to do that? They have a range of cars available from compact to luxury to crossovers. If you can’t afford it, then the car wasn’t intended for you. Perhaps try for a Proton or a Perodua. It’s not BMW’s problem to produce cheap cars for you.

BMW pricing are subject to taxes n they r selling much cheaper juz to hav market share in malaysia (factoring the cost ie marketing distribution , exchange rate etc).. its the taxes which killin them to offer us betta pricing..by all means…it has nothin to do wif being poor .. bcoz the poor ppl r sensible in spending..most buyers take up loans to buy tis .. so r they real rich or juz actin rich…so poor is real n rich its juz an illusion ..unless u r born wif a silver spoon..so dont mock poor ppl.. at least they r really.. compared to ppl who has to pay lunch using credit card..:D

its a bmw for goodness sake. they are a “luxury” brand. even if they could sell a product cheaper, they will not because it isn’t befitting their brand. it is the same with any other product out there. normal people buy a casio watch, and the rich buy a rolex.. rolex isn’t going to sell cheaper because they don’t need to and it does not fit into the image of their brand and what it represents. As consumers, we have choices and we buy based on the best quality we can afford. If its a perodua, by all means and be happy with it (im sure many people are). Also, its not just in malaysia that the rich buy bmw’s, its the same everywhere else in the world, because if the govt dont tax you highly on cars, they’re going to tax your income like hell and its back to square one.
