The Ford Ranger is a staple of the Australian motoring scene, being one of the more popular models of its kind on the continent. Ford specialist Tickford has given the pick-up truck (or ute, as the Aussies call it) a once-over, including a powertrain upgrade worth AUD$7,995 (RM25,281) which takes the 3.2 litre, five-cylinder turbodiesel’s outputs to 228 hp and 560 Nm of torque, up from the standard 197 hp and 470 Nm.
The parts list doesn’t stop there; Tickford also offers Bilstein dampers and a set of custom 20-inch wheels for the Ranger with matching tyres for AUD$4,530 (RM14,317), or AUD$1,285 (RM4,061) for just the dampers. An exhaust system with carbon-fibre finishing is also available, as are items such as wheel arch extensions, new grille, side sill steps and Tickford leather interior trim.
The Ranger is just one of several Fords that have been tuned by Tickford; the Australian outfit also has aftermarket items for the Mustang, in both EcoBoost and 5.0 V8 GT forms. Components for the Ford Everest seven-seater SUV are also set to be available from the Australian company in the first half of next year, while the Focus RS might also be up for some customised parts.

I think there’s no driving this car without at least 100kgs of ballast in the bed to weigh down the wheels for traction. On wet roads the ESC will light up like a christmas tree
