VIDEO: Subaru Forester ad featuring The Simpsons

The Subaru Forester is certainly a very capable SUV, so much so that it is the star in a brand new commercial alongside America’s favourite family, The Simpsons.

In the 30-second ad, Homer Simpson has had enough of the unhealthy food sold at the Kwik-E-Mart, and decides to bring baby Maggie on a trip out of town for some healthier options. With both strapped in (one in a baby seat attached to the SUV’s Isofix mount), the Subaru Forester brings them across the difficult terrain in comical fashion.

Of course, the Forester’s 2.0 litre NA four-cylinder boxer engine and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system are certainly helpful to haul the health foods back to 742 Evergreen Terrace, complete with a mobile milk provider (aka a cow). For Homer Simpson and family at least, there’s nothing they can’t do with a Forester.

Away from the small screen, the Forester is available in Malaysia in three variants, with the 2.0i and 2.0i-P being CKD offerings, while the turbocharged 2.0 XT comes fully imported from Japan. The Forester can be had starting from a promotional price of RM119,190 (OTR without insurance).

The name Subaru evoke/remind me of a tough AWD racing cars in old days WRC together with MMC Evolution’s & the legendary Quattro of Audi not to mention Ford Escort/Focus.

It is indeed good news for scooby fans that Subaru decided to offer a turbocharged 2.0 XT comes fully imported from Japan at RM217,858.70 for the 2.0 XT.

Not a good news anyway because RM217k is expensive, should be around RM199k instead. Hopefully the levorg will be cheaper than that

No choice lo, we’re living in a country that produces our own national car that can’t support itself but need the nation’s money to support them instead. That’s where you get the “RM217k”. If our national car can support itself, a Forester will definitely cost much lower than RM199k.

        *Peace!
