BMW Japan is continuing its celebration of the automaker’s centenary this year with another special edition model – the BMW 640i Gran Coupe Celebration Edition Exclusive Sport.

Limited to just 33 units, the special 640i features various equipment and optional extras, starting with a Sapphire Black Metallic paint scheme for the exterior that is accompanied by aluminium side window sills from the BMW Individual customisation programme.

The car also gets spruced up further with an M Sport package which tags on more aggressive-looking bumpers, joined by a set of 20-inch M alloy wheels shod with 245/35 size tyres at the front and 275/30 size ones at the rear.

Inside, the Celebration Edition Exclusive Sport gets brown Nappa leather seats with black accents, contrast stitching, leather dashboard and a special finish for the iDrive controller, air-con switchgear and gear lever.

More BMW Individual bits can be seen on the ceiling, where there is now Alcantara roof lining, while a piano black finish is applied on various interior trim pieces. Finally, there’s a dedicated ‘Exclusive Sport’ badge to highlight the model’s exclusivity further.

The model also comes equipped with the comfort package, so rear-seat heating, soft-closing doors, four-zone automatic air-conditioning and ventilated front seats all come as standard. Adding to this is a 16-speaker Harman Kardon 600 W surround sound system.

The special edition 6er is priced at 13,400,000 yen (RM554,388), and is powered by a BMW TwinPower 3.0 litre turbocharged inline six that develops 320 PS and 450 Nm, with drive directed to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Malaysians cannot even dream of this la. Malaysians get even 320i at RM200k also we will be so happy. This car will be at least RM2 million when it comes to Malaysia. How to afford?

90% of the rakyat can only afford maximum also Vios and City as an upgrade for their Bezza and Persona. Can only mimpi about the 640i

  • Personally I think this is a handsome looking sports saloon. Very dignified and elegant, yet oozing sportiness.
Not quite the new Panamera though. Read somewhere the 6 series is a flop worldwide
