2017 Benelli TRK 502 and Leoncino enter production

Italian motorcycle manufacturer Benelli – not to be confused with its separate famed firearms division – has confirmed that two new models will enter the market next year, the TRK 502 and Leoncino. The Benelli TRK 502 is a dual-purpose styled adventure tourer, while the Leoncino, which means “lion cub” in Italian, is a distinctly retro scrambler style machine.

The two 2017 models will share the same engine – a 500cc, 46 hp liquid-cooled parallel-twin power plant. The TRK 502 gets a 20-litre fuel tank, full-adjustable fork with 135 mm of travel, and a 19-inch front wheel as an option for better off-road handling.

Sharp-eyed readers will notice both bikes bear more than a passing resemblance to another pair of bikes that also come from Italy, and the Leoncino bears this out. Coming with 17-inch wheels as standard, and a 19-inch front hoop for the “Trails” version, the Leoncino looks to be tapping into the current retro-style hipster bike trend.

Colour choices for the Benelli TRK 502 are red, black or white, while the Leoncino comes in red, silver, green or black. Benelli has not released any information on pricing, but availability is said to be sometime in early 2017.

  • Mohan, There is a typo on the 2nd paragraph “The TRL 502 gets a 20-litre..” I think it should be TR”K”.
Will these new models be launched in Bolehland anytime soon?

Give them another 5 to 10 years the perception of Chinese
products will improve. Japanese cars like Toyopet was once called Milo tin car. Now consumers praise Taiwan scooters, they are selling well worldwide. In US some of Harbor Freight ( hardware supermarket ) tools which is made in Taiwan are good quality. Accepted and praised by customers.
