Launched just last week with prices starting from RM160k, we now have a detailed walk-around video of the Malaysian-spec B8 Volkswagen Passat. Do spare a short five minutes to find out all you need to know about this new entry to the D-segment sedan market.

The model in focus here is the range-topping Passat 2.0 TSI Highline, with its 220 PS, 350 Nm engine paired with a six-speed wet dual-clutch DSG – shared with the Mk7 Golf GTI. This one is priced at just under RM200k, but as you’ll see in the video above, it does offer a lot for the asking price.

Two 1.8 TSI models are also available – Trendline and Comfortline – both with a 180 PS, 250 Nm engine and a seven-speed dry dual-clutch DSG. There are quite a few differences between the three variants, most of which are detailed in our walk-around tour.

Do you see it as a viable alternative to the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry or even the Mercedes C-Class and BMW 3 Series? Sound off in the comments section below. For full specifications of the B8 Volkswagen Passat in Malaysia, check out Do also read our full review of the model for more details.
