New Audi Q5 to reach Malaysia in Q3 2017 – 2.0 TFSI

audi-q5-mexico

The 2017 Audi Q5 will reaching Malaysia in the third quarter of 2017, a source from Audi Malaysia told paultan.org. Audi is currently having the international press presentation of the second-generation Q5 in Mexico, which is the global production hub for the premium midsize SUV.

The new Q5 replaces the original that made its debut back in 2008. Since then, Ingolstadt has shipped over 1.6 million units of the popular model, catching the SUV wave very early. This second-gen Q5 made its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in September, and will go on sale in major markets such as North America and Europe in January 2017.

Audi’s penchant for evolutionary design masks an SUV that’s up to 90 kg lighter than before, thanks to the use of steel with maximum tensile strength as well as aluminium. The weight loss is despite the Q5 growing in overall length (4.66m), wheelbase (2.82m), height (1.66m) and boot volume (550 litres).

Launch engines include a latest-gen 2.0 litre TFSI petrol unit with 252 hp and 370 Nm of torque, a 2.0 TDI and a 3.0 TDI V6 with 286 hp and 620 Nm. The sole gasoline mill – which is mated to a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox and is capable of 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds – is the variant that will be coming to Malaysia, based on logic and trend.

The new Audi Q5 will be welcomed to the premium midsize SUV class by the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC and Lexus NX.

Buying an Audi is as good as buying a VW, the car is 100% VW. Every single part of the Audi is from VW.

No point paying so much of money for a car that is made by cheater and liar VW. Oh by the way, US recently found another cheat device on Audi cars. This is a different cheat device that was on VW cars.

Like I said, a cheater will always be a cheater.

    • After driving Q5 for 3.5 years, what a nightmare..no more Q5 for me.
NX, X3 or GLC are the more sensible choice.

        • If you don’t know the problem, I doubt you are driving a Q5, or maybe you just bought..good luck to you.
I spend nearly 70k to repair many things in 3 years and nearly have to change the whole engine…after that opt for overhaul if not 100k also not enough.
Anyway I already sold the Q5….nightmare end.

          • i am a Q5 owner and been driving the facelifted version – 2012 till now models, since new.
If you interested on Q5, try avoid pre facelifted models(before 2012) as the cars have engine problems – to be exact, oil consumption problem.
In general, the facelifted models already solved many issues(the engines are different, by the way)
i hope this infos help..Good day

Thank Q Audi for giving those rich people an extra choice in the form of a Q5. We need these people to spend their $$$ in-order for the car industry & our economy to sustain & keep these sales people at work.

Without the rich spending their $$$, our economy will not sustain let alone grow. To the rich, keep spending as your are doing a favor to our economy. Like john said, the gov need to tax U 2 pay the poor. Happy spending.

This modern SUV will not be CKD in Malaysia. Perhaps the 4 audi models to be CKD are A3,A4,A6 and Q2

  • Still prefer the premium SUV of Volvo XC60 T6 ( 306 HP) over Audi Q5 and Lexus NX.
