KTM RC16 MotoGP customer version to cost RM470k

It was strongly hinted that the KTM RC16 MotoGP racebike would be made available as a track-only customer bike, and this has now been confirmed by KTM chief executive officer Stefan Peirer. Speaking to German publication Speedweek, Pierer said the RC16 would be ready for purchase in 2018 at a price of “between 100,000 euros to 120,000 euros (RM470,000 to RM563,000).”

According to Pierer, 100 units of the customer-edition RC16 will be made available for sale, with the design of the commercial RC16 following the race RC16 “very closely.” This includes a 240 PS power output from the V-four, down 30 PS from the 270 PS race machine.

This limited edition, premium performance machine from KTM comes as no surprise, as there is a market out there for high-end, exclusive motorcycles. This can be seen from offerings such as the Honda RC213V-S, the Ducati 1299 Superleggera and Kawasaki H2 Carbon.
