Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Night Edition revealed

Mercedes-Benz is extending its S-Class Coupe range further with the introduction of the new Night Edition. Set to go on sale in Europe in April 2017, followed by the United States four months later, the special model will make its debut at next year’s Detroit Auto Show.

Available for order in S 400 4Matic, S 500 and S 500 4Matic guise, the Night Edition introduces several visual enhancements that allow it to stand out from the regular car. Therefore, the twin-turbo 3.0 litre V6 and 4.7 litre V8 engines will not receive any bump in power.

On the exterior, the Night Edition has a single louvre grille finished in high-gloss black, with the side mirror housings and side sill panel inserts receiving the same paintjob as well.

Elsewhere, the car also receives the AMG body styling, most noticeably at the front and rear aprons. Finishing touches include 20-inch AMG multi-spoke light alloy wheels that are painted black and feature a high-sheen rim flange, as well as ‘Night Edition’ badging. The selenite grey magno matte finish is an optional item here, taken from Mercedes’ designo range.

Inside, you’ll find that the AMG sports steering wheel in Nappa leather has ‘Night Edition’ engraved on the insert, with plenty of high-gloss black wood trim as well.

You also get to choose from leather, Nappa leather or AMG Nappa leather for the cabin upholstery with the default colour scheme being black. Alternatively, you can also choose from other two-tone options like crystal grey/black, saddle brown/black or Bengal red/black
