Shell has confirmed that it is experiencing technical glitches with its site system, which has affected operations at hundreds of its stations nationwide.
According to a statement released by the company, the issue started at approximately 1am on January 16, where customers were unable to perform credit card transactions to purchase fuel.
As of current, 230 Shell stations have returned to operating normally, accepting both cash and credit card transactions. Meanwhile, other stations will still continue to accept cash payments.
The company is currently working with its IT vendor to identify the cause and extent of the issue. It also stated that it will work tirelessly to resolve the matter, and apologises for any inconvenience caused to customers and retailers.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
I avoid SHELL, because the pump unit is kinda unfriendly to use.And also I have experienced less oil pumped for the money paid.
The same sick guy will blame p1 for this
From exploration to getting it pumped to your car, PETRONAS provides world class services second to none. Failure in Shell stations should remind fellow Malaysians to be true to your calling. Your loyalty and every single drop of blood belongs to the gov. Ini tanah tumpahnya darah kita. Syabas gov and PETRONAS! – Faiz Roslan CEng
Syabas also to the RM2.6 billion stolen!
Ada bukti?
PETRONAS lagi bagus bah
You should buy a 5 liters container to pump at Shell & record a video to justify your claim/complaint.
Which 5 litre container?
unprofesional management. petronas is better than shell
Why the hoo hah? This not the first time Shell encountered such problem…
This indeed a very important news but i guess there is a good reason for it. However, there are more important such as no water in pandan indah since saturday 14th throughout till monday nobody seems care. This is the sad side of media interest.
This is a car blog not a water blog!
Why on earth would you want to read a water supply problems on a Vehicle derived website?
Dei wrong website to complain water. Better off you call up indah water, syabas or your local council mp.
Somehow, i didn’t experience any problem at all early this morning using my credit card at Shell SS18. Plus the terminal used in that particular station is the newest system.
yesterday both usj 2 and usj 6 can’t pump with credit card, only cash later in the afternoon
even BHP cant perform credit card tranx last nite
Continue to outsource to india
Can you elaborate more on this?
Shell IT support in Malaysia (Cyberjaya) is on its way (or closed already?) to ceased operation. All IT support will moved to India
I was a loyal Shell customer for nearly 10 years. But recently switch to Petronas because Shell is too popular. So fed up with the queue and broken air pump. Petronas has excellent air pump and excellent customer service.
Except for Petronas station at S15 Shah Alam near Toyota. The air pump always broken or no metal valve connector at end of the hose. Also the station management don’t allow parking in front of the station for people who want to enter the Mesra shop. Very inconvenient for customers or they just park at the petrol pumps which will make other customers wait. Petronas stations are generally good but not this one.
They said credit card transaction was affected only buy on my way back home last evening, i saw 2 station is closed totally.does not even accept cash payment.
Their IT vendor must be sweating and panicking like hell…..
time for Shell to fire its stupid IT vendor ^^
If cant use credit card, pay by cash.. if not, go to the many other petrol station brands. Not a catastrophic event
no wonder that day i couldn’t pump petrol…. in the end i went for Petron Blaze 100.
I always experience the card services down in most of the shell here. Now Shell only look into this matter.
No problem. Just go use another brand. Some of them are only next door to Shell.
Most probably, their payment system got hacked.
They reverted to internal support years ago… so technically its their own staff that are sweating
