Callaway Corvette Aerowagen – C7 shooting brake

Callaway Corvette Aerowagen – C7 shooting brake

Fancy a shooting brake-bodied Corvette? American tuner Callaway may have just the ticket for the C7 coupe.

Though not a ground-up redesign, Callaway now has an Aerowagen package for the current, C7-generation Corvette which replaces the original Corvette hatch with Aerowagen bodywork which features a longer roofline, and a more abrupt rear screen angle as it meets the rear bodywork. The Corvette targa top is retained.

Variants compatible with the Aerowagen package include the C7 Corvette Stingray, Grand Sport and Z06 coupes, though due to the Corvette’s unaltered design, it isn’t quite a shooting brake in the true sense – the Aerowagen doesn’t gain provision for rear seats in the cargo area. Speaking of cargo, the Aerowagen package is said to increase cargo volume by a “significant” amount, though no figures have been released.

The rear fascia and tail lights, interior, and drivetrain are all unchanged with the Aerowagen package. So far, no performance figures have been released. As for the series-production Corvette range, the Z06 is the potent of the lot, with 650 hp and 861 Nm of torque cranked out of its 6.2 litre, supercharged V8 engine, upcoming ZR1 notwithstanding.

What do you think of this shooting brake conversion? Yay or nay?

Now I know why they call it ‘Aero’-‘wagen’. Aero/Arrow becos the front is sharp. The back looks like a wagon hence the wagen was used & this aero have some space to lug your luggage just in case U decide to go 4 cross country or camping.

As 4 shooting brake, have 2 ask john or Kunta as they are the most knowledgeable on anything on wheels.
