Haval H2 CKD launched – 1.5T, 2 variants, from RM99k

Haval H2 CKD launched – 1.5T, 2 variants, from RM99k

Go Auto has launched the locally-assembled Haval H2. The CKD Haval H2 is priced at RM98,950 for the Comfort spec and RM101,950 for the Premium variant, on the road including insurance. It is already on display at 14 Haval showrooms across the country. Go Auto has plans to export the CKD H2 to Batam in Indonesia and Cambodia.

The specifications of the CBU H2 – launched in May 2016 – has been maintained for the CKD version, but the base manual Standard model has been dropped for local assembly, leaving just Comfort and Premium trim levels. The CKD H2 comes with a new wheel design and a new “Haval Blue” exterior colour.

The Haval H2 is powered by a 1.5 litre turbocharged engine with 147 hp and 210 Nm of torque from 2,200 to 4,500 rpm. The boosted four-pot is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Equipment include auto headlamps and wipers, a sunroof, LED daytime running lights, front fog lamps, keyless entry with push start, multifunction meter panel, steering wheel buttons, dual-zone automatic air con and a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

For safety, six airbags, reverse sensors and camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ESP and front active headrests are standard. The Premium gets two-tone leather upholstery as opposed to all-black leather.

Haval’s distributor is now offering a “Buy Back Guarantee” scheme to ensure its buyers get back 50% resale value should the car be resold to the company within five years. Terms and conditions apply, of course.

If this car is RM101k, then Boyue will be much more. Maybe RM110k or RM120k. This is because Boyue is a better car than this Haval

If Boyue is RM120k, who will buy it? Might as well get Forrester for RM118k or X-Trail, truly time tested Japanese brands.

It looks like Boyue is destined to fail

How do you know it’s destined to fail if the Malaysian public hasn’t even gotten a good impression of it yet. The Proton brand does hinder its perception but if the car itself is well specced for the price and performs above average in most areas it will generate sales. Price wise, the Boyue shouldn’t be more than 130k for full spec variant given that the CRV and X-Trail are around 168k for full spec model with full excise duties.

Haval is one of the top selling car/ suv in China whilst Geely Bayu is not even top ten. Geely hardly been seen in Beijing…mostly continental. Then what can be expected from Geely @ Geli2?

Nice car! I followed behind one from a distance and on first glance, I thought it was an Audi Q3. But when I got close, it was this Haval in two tone color.

Can our ever great and pride of the nation Proton also give buy back scheme and Guarantee 50% value for their cars?

Like that, I also don’t mind buy Proton. Now, I stay away from Proton cause it is the King of RV Depreciation.

If Proton can buy back 50% after 5 years, I will buy it.

Wow, this H2 have many bells & whistles that many vehicles sold in the region of RM 100k does not have. It also comes with “Buy Back Guarantee”. Looks like a Good buy not Goodbye.

  • Price is too high. An extra RM 50-100 will get them a Japanese and French car lesser u get the Asean specific Japs which are also highly regarded…needs to be at 80-90 to stand a chance

H2 competitor is pretty much CRV. CRV price start from RM140k. There is cheaper Haval it is called Haval H1 start from RM60k

  • Although it’s 1.5T but the performance is slower than HRV. It’s more noisier too. Why would anybody buy this over the HRV?

  • CBU Cheaper? on Sep 14, 2017 at 1:12 pm

    CBU–
“The Haval H2 is available in three variants – the base Standard model starts from RM87,246.01, while the Comfort variant is priced at RM95,997.97. The top-range Premium variant is priced at RM98,915.29. All prices quoted are inclusive of GST and excludes insurance.”

    CKD–
“Go Auto has launched the locally-assembled Haval H2. The CKD Haval H2 is priced at RM98,950 for the Comfort spec and RM101,950 for the Premium variant, on the road including insurance.”

What’s the point of CKD if the price is similar to CBU?

I checked out this car recently at a roadshow at Subang parade recently, i was really impressed by it.

The interior is pretty damn good actually, i think even better than Japanese in this segment. Soft plastics, dampened glove box, tactile buttons, etc, you’ve gotta be unfairly prejudiced to fault it for the price it offers.

Haval being best seller in China is no fluke. I really think it’s a good car i can happily recommend anyone to buy if their budget fits.

At least until Proton Boyue arrives, in which Proton, Geely > all

Nice power from Haval. Unfortunately the price is very close to the Honda HRV though Haval is impressively spec.

When come to consumer, brand still matters.

  • Go Auto is struggling with low sales even with this H2 model.

But if Proton rebadge this model, it would the best car the people of Malaysia ever had and it will be a turnaround for Proton.

Is Geely now related to P1? Yes.
Is Geely like big bro to P1? Yes.

          So why…

Slap on the Jaguar brand on that car with that price and everyone will buy it. Same car… just different brand name… yes that’s how powerful branding works.

For a small brand presence in Malaysia, I have seen a number of M4/Haval H1 on federal highway for the past few months and yes 1 H2 everyday on the road. H1 is gaining acceptance but H2 needs some attraction… an even lower price perhaps? Koreans used to be low priced and when it got popular, the price shoot up.

H2 is way classier than cheapo looking HRV. The finishing is a class above HRV. The SUV is also very durable & reliable as in China, Haval sold more SUV in numbers than what Perodua & Proton sold in Msia.
