MINI Clubman Sterling Edition reintroduced – limited to just 40 units, online booking, priced at RM268,888

MINI Malaysia is reintroducing the MINI Clubman Sterling Edition, which was first launched in limited numbers in August last year. This time, instead of just 20 units, the company is offering 40 units instead – all of which are available for booking online via a dedicated website beginning January 11, 2018.

Price wise, the Clubman Sterling Edition has a retail price of RM268,888 on-the-road without insurance and includes a four-year/unlimited mileage warranty, four-year/60,000 km free service package and five-year Roadside Assistance programme. As before, interested parties will need to fork out a RM2,000 booking fee to secure their unit.

On the exterior, the Sterling Edition sports a Melting Silver paintjob that is paired with Matte Black Jack mirror caps and roof decal. Elsewhere, the side scuttles feature Black Union Jack symbols and the car gets a set of 18-inch MINI Yours Masterpiece alloy wheels finished in black.

Moving inside, you’ll find a combination of Pure Burgundy and Indigo Blue tones, the latter being the colour scheme for the Chester leather seats. The Pure Burgundy interior also comes with the MINI Yours Illuminated Interior, offering owners 12 pre-set colours to choose from, similar to what you’ll find in the Countryman.

Other items include a MINI Yours ‘Walknappa’ steering wheel, which wrapped with Nappa leather and featuring the union jack insignia (Cooper S Clubman has a John Cooper Works steering wheel) at the bottom of the wheel. There’s also the MINI Excitement package, dual-zone climate control system and Keyless Go.

Owners will also get to enjoy the MINI Parking Assist function, which helps make parking a little less stressful for the driver, along with the help of a rear-view camera. The MINI Connected infotainment system comes with a navigation function, and can be interacted with using the 6.5-inch touchscreen display.

As for the mechanicals, the Sterling Edition is based on the F54 Cooper S Clubman, and employs 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine and eight-speed sport automatic transmission. The mill outputs 192 hp at 5,000 rpm and 280 Nm (300 Nm on overboost) at 1,250 rpm, and is capable of propelling the six-door vehicle from a standstill to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds (228 km/h top speed).

“It was a first in the Malaysian automotive industry when we introduced the new MINI Clubman Sterling Edition exclusively online and we are pleased to see the successful delivery of all 20 units. Within less than two weeks of its introduction, the limited edition MINI was fully booked online thus proving that Malaysians appreciate the exclusivity of exceptionally well-made premium cars,” said Han Sang Yun, managing director and CEO of BMW Group Malaysia.

“Because of the successful response, the new MINI Clubman Sterling Edition will make a comeback in celebration of the New Year, and with new technology for an even more unique experience. Indeed, the limited-edition MINI has excited and made its mark in the premium compact segment and will continue to do so,” he added.

Singapore cars are cheaper than Malaysia

CBU Toyota CHR Hybrid in Singapore is SGD65k. COE is SGD35k. Total is SGD100k

Gaji Singapore Gomen Servant purata is SGD5000

In Malaysia Toyota CHR estimated to be RM160k.

Gaji Gomen Servant Putrajaya purata is RM1200

        Which is cheaper?
        SGD100k (gaji SGD5000) vs RM160k (gaji RM1200) ?
