Last week, Lexus Malaysia announced that it has opened the order books for the new Lexus LS. Fast forward to today and the Japanese luxury sedan has been spotted by reader Safuan Mahmud at the Road Transport Department (JPJ) headquarters in Putrajaya, so an official launch should be happening soon.
The car seen here is an LS 500, which is powered by a new 3.5 litre twin-turbo V6 that produces 415 hp at 6,000 rpm and 600 Nm of torque from 1,600 to 4,800 rpm. All that is sent to the rear wheels through a 10-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission.
Also available for the Malaysian market will be the LS 500h hybrid. This uses the Multi-Stage Hybrid system from the LC 500h, pairing a 295 hp/350 Nm 3.5 litre naturally-aspirated V6 to a 176 hp/300 Nm electric motor for a total system output of 354 hp. A four-speed automatic gearbox works with the hybrid system’s eCVT to simulate the feel of a 10-speed transmission.
Lexus Malaysia has already revealed that the new LS, which will be offered in LS 500 Luxury, LS 500 Executive and LS 500h Executive variants, will come with the Lexus Safety System + suite of driver assists. These include a front Pre-Collision System (PCS) with pedestrian detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) and Automatic High Beam (AHB).
Also confirmed to be offered is Kiriko cut glass trim and hand-pleated fabric on the doors, which would certainly enhance what already looks to be a very classy place to be in. No other details have been released, but expect the car to come dressed to the nines with features such as 28-way power-adjustable front seats, 22-way adjustable rear seats with an ottoman, rear seat entertainment displays and a 23-speaker Mark Levinson Reference sound system, at least on the higher end Executive variants.
Pricing has been released as well, with the LS 500 Luxury priced at RM799,000, the LS 500 Executive at RM999,000 and the LS 500h Executive at RM1,459,000. All prices are on-the-road without insurance, inclusive of a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Looks like if Plan A – becoming a millionaire, doesn’t work out, the next best option would be Plan B – become a JPJ test driver to get to drive these babies.
Just Millionaire won’t be enough to get you this car, you must be Multi-Millionaire to buy it brother…
Another pretender to the ultimate limo S320L
Absolutely stunning…beautiful…bravo lexus bravo…only aston martin comes close in terms of beauty…lexus rocks
‘wah’ only to those who have never seen big luxury vehicles.
In 2-dimensional pictures here, there seems to be a few small imperfections.
this car is wayyyyy to futuristic…
Woah… … …
So weird… … …
So ugly
Yeap it looks really horrible like a Baboon !!
Really very un evergreen design .
More like a Toyota anyway .
Unlike Toyota this is king of RV depreciation .
you’d spend close to more than a million dollars on a limo, you’d want ppl to take notice, i’d say lexus succeeded in doing so, with twin turbo under d hood and 600nm of torque, it is certainly no slouch, lexus might finally have a genuine contender
Hopefully can see this in the flesh soon. It looks odd in pictures, but i think in the metal, it might look nicer. While the Germans are going for a safe design, Lexus isn’t afraid to be different. They didn’t bother making an S Class competitor. They just made a large limo/sedan the way they want it, not how the Germans would make it.
Yes exactly Lexus is making a junk for themselves to use not pleasing the majorities unlike the Germans in which the Germans had generated great sales and likeable vehicles..
So far Lexus is not selling well and doing badly in Malaysia next after Audi.
From zero, latest figure (2017) shows that Lexus already spotted as 3rd luxury brand behind merc and bmw only within few years of establishment.. shamely leaving audi (German) behind.. They are growing slow but steady..
Just love a previous LS..more cool..so sad
A four-speed automatic gearbox works with the electric motor to simulate the feel of a 10-speed transmission.
What is this for? Actual performance still base on 4 speed?
is there any special car number plate design that wont spoiled the beauty of the front grill
