Land Rover Defender – final commemorative edition of 12 units introduced in Malaysia, three special colours

We really haven’t heard the last of the Land Rover Defender, for sure. Earlier this week, Land Rover – via its Classic arm – announced a limited 150-unit run of Works V8 units to celebrate the marque’s 70th anniversary, and now, closer to home, we have a smaller batch of specials joining the parade.

Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia is releasing the last lot of 110 Double Cab Defenders in the country, and 12 units make up the final outing, available in three special commemorative colours – Montalcino Red, Sicilian Yellow and Baltic Blue.

Contrast is the name of the game here for the exterior schemes. The Sicilian Yellow and Montalcino Red variants play off gloss black, which goes on the roof, front grille, wheel arches, headlamp covers and the 16-inch wheels. As for the Baltic Blue version, silver on the roof and wheels provide the necessary contrast.

Inside, the last Defenders come with leather seats with contrast stitching matched to the exterior paint. The stitching also makes its way on to the leather gear knob and steering wheel, and the edition’s headlining has been upgraded to Alcantara.

Powered by a 2.2 litre diesel engine that is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the Defender 110 Double Cab commemorative edition is priced at RM198,800, excluding road tax, insurance and registration.

WOW…gloss black tail gate and bed.
Destined to be a garage queen.

They could at least embellish the truck with a bit of spray-on hard wearing bedliner.
