2018 Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival season finale happening this weekend at Technology Park Malaysia

2018 Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival season finale happening this weekend at Technology Park Malaysia

The final round of the inaugural Toyota Vios Challenge is finally upon us, and is set to take place this weekend (March 24-25, 2018) during the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Racing Festival at Technology Park Malaysia (TPM) in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. Previous rounds for the one-make race series were held in Batu Kawan Stadium, Penang, Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), Selangor and Medini City in Iskandar Puteri, Johor

“I believe that the Vios Challenge has successfully made motorsports more accessible to Malaysian fans and judging from the enthusiastic crowds who have come to the events and the great vibes they share, one-make racing remains a positive platform for us to continue developing and appealing as a wholesome and exciting family activity,” said Ravindran Kurusam, president of UMW Toyota Motor.

The season finale will see the first winners of the Vios Challenge in their respective classes, which include Promotional, Sporting and Super Sporting. With local celebrities such as Fattah Amin, Shukri Yahaya, Diana Danielle, Janna Nick, Geraldine Gan, Danny Koo, Venice Min and Shawn Lee, the Promotional class has proved to be a popular among the public.

Before any racing starts, visitors will be given access to the track, which will be open for an hour on both Saturday and Sunday mornings for fun runs and rides. These sessions will see approximately 700 registered participants have the chance to experience running and cycling on the race track as part of Toyota’s effort to promote a healthy lifestyle.

Aside from the action (and exercise) on track, visitors will also be able to get up close with a range of Toyota models, including the latest Hilux L-Edition, Sienta, C-HR, Innova X, Avanza X and many others. There will also be an obstacle course for the public to experience the capabilities of the Hilux and Fortuner.

For an even more extreme demonstration of what a Toyota can do, there will be an exhibition drift show by Japanese World Champion drifters Masato Kawabata and Hideyuki Fujino. The duo will pilot a pair of modified, high-powered 86 cars with Toyo Tires as they showcase precise car control.

Away from things with engines, fans of the TV series My Coffee Prince will get to interact with Syafiq Ahmad and Faez Azemi, who will be joined by Fattah Amin, Janna Nick and Diana Danielle on stage. For the younger ones, they can look forward to appearances by Didi and Friends mascots as well as Pak Atan.

Lest we forget, 18 food and drink vendors selected from the top food trucks and stalls in the city will be present to ensure you are well fed. If any of the above interests you, the TGR Racing Festival season finale is where you’ll want to be this weekend from 9am to 6.30pm – entrance is free.

    Thank you UMW for this.

Confirm there won’t be a 2nd season of this Vios Challenge. After spending millions for it, sales still not much increase. The fact is, sales of Toyota passenger cars as a whole is on a downwards trend despite the huge promotion and price cuts.
