Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia celebrates country’s 61st year of independence with its ad starring the Outlander

Our country will celebrate its 61st year of independence in 2018, and ahead of the festivities taking place this Friday, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has released its ad to further the patriotic feeling in every Malaysian.

The video, set to the tune of ‘Malaysia’ by Faizal Tahir, sees a young boy asking his grandfather to take him to Dataran Merdeka and he won’t take no for an answer. His eagerness has him “dragging” his old man to the family’s Mitsubishi Outlander before they set off on their journey.

They soon reach the iconic field where on August 31, 1957, the Union Jack flag was lowered and the Malayan flag was hoisted for the first time. The young boy runs up to the 95-metre flagpole and salutes it, where he is later “joined” by a younger version of his grandfather doing the same.

When the nostalgic filter fades to return to the present, both are seen saluting our Jalur Gemilang, a reminder that our respect and love for the country transcends generations, and we will continue to defend our home. Selamat Hari Merdeka, Malaysians.

Mitsubishi for 30 years was supposed to give Proton a transfer of technology. Apa jadi? Until today, Proton is still rebadger.

If U have understood the meaning behind the video, U wouldn’t have said that. The Evo is an Icon/history now. For MMM, they use the correct vehicle as its their “Flagship” in MY.
