Lexus teases new flagship model – production LF-1?

Do you enjoy ambiguity? Well, this teaser image from Lexus will be right up your alley then. The luxury automaker has announced that it will unveil its fourth flagship model soon but is remaining extremely vague on just what it is.

UPDATE: It’s the LY 650, a luxury yacht that measures just over 65 feet and will cost a lot of money. Like, a couple of million ringgit or more.

In an official release, the company merely writes, “luxury buyers around the world are familiar with the Lexus LS, LX, and LC. Tomorrow, the luxury lifestyle brand will announce its fourth flagship. Stay tuned.”

If we had to guess, this could be the production version of the brand’s LF-1 Limitless concept that was shown at the 2018 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The rather striking show car was described as a “flagship luxury crossover” at the time, which certainly fits the bill here.

According to Lexus, the LF-1 Limitless could be powered by hydrogen fuel cell, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, gasoline, or even all-electric powertrains. It also comes with autonomous driving capability, including a chauffeur mode.

Dimension wise, the concept measures 5,014 mm long, 1,986 mm wide and 1,605 mm tall, with a 2,974 mm wheelbase. The interior is awash with fancy materials, high levels of craftsmanship, and a plethora of displays that controlled via motion tracking or touch.

Of course, we’ll have to wait for Lexus to officially unveil its new flagship to see if this is the case. In the meantime, try and fathom just what is being shown in the teaser image.

Lexus designs are so good. Same brains as Toyota designers. This is why both brands are doing so well all over the world. The designers are constantly improving on their designs and they never goyang kaki in office and lepak the whole day

Is that the reason why they came out with this hideous design? Then I rather prefer they goyang kaki in office and lepak the whole day but come out with a stylish car instead of this alien.

lEXUS is STILL STRUGGLING to get the RIGHT DESIGN MOJO for its range of cars for Mass acceptance and desirability without enhancing and innovating any outstanding engineering technologies and capabilities in its cars yet.

Unlike other premium makes like Mercedes , Volvo and BMW ,these automakers had already found their desirable design MOJO accepted by masses . They had started moving forward by enhancing and introducing their engineering and technology capabilities of the FUTURE INTO THEIR CARS NOW.
