Volvo ended its decade-long absence in Sarawak over the weekend with the unveiling of a new 3S showroom and service centre in Kuching, along Jalan Tun Jugah. The facility is operated by the company’s appointed dealer in the state, Fortroende Automobile (“förtroende” is Swedish for “confidence”, interestingly enough).
As with other Volvo dealerships, the Kuching showroom conforms to the Volvo Retail Experience (VRE) standard, billed as a customer-centric, Scandinavian-inspired retail experience that is “cool on the outside and warm on the inside.”
“Sarawak’s potential in the premium car market cannot be understated. It is vital that we regain a foothold in Kuching before expanding into other cities within the state. We have worked hard to ensure that the brand is represented by competent and passionate dealer partners that will serve our customers well,” said Volvo Car Malaysia managing director Lennart Stegland.
Fortroende Automobile managing director David Lai added, “Demand for the brand is strong, especially with the arrival of exciting new models from Volvo. We are proud that have been chosen by Volvo Car Malaysia to represent the brand here in Kuching.”
Volvo Kuching is open from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday and 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sundays and public holidays.
