The latest-generation MINI Connected is finally here in Malaysia and will be available on all 2019 Year Make MINI models as standard. It features built-in 4G SIM connectivity, which enables owners to seamlessly integrate the MINI into their digital lifestyle.
Besides that, MINI Connected features a raft of functionalities, which includes Remote Services (check your car’s status remotely), MINI Connected smartphone app (available on both iOS and Android platforms), smartphone mirroring with Spotify, Waze, WhatsApp and Google Maps support, a more natural voice command system, as well as MINI FindMate (Bluetooth vehicle tracking) and MINI Concierge Services.
Like BMW, MINI Connected also gets Intelligent Emergency Call which kicks into action in the event of an accident. When the crash sensors are activated, the system immediately dials MINI emergency call centre – via the built-in 4G SIM – for immediate assistance. This can also be manually done to request for help for other road users.
Also, iOS users will be glad to know that Apple CarPlay can be activated wirelessly (previous iterations of the MINI Connected required cable connection). Other notable functions include calendar syncing, which by extension uses the “Send to Car” function to predetermine the best driving route via GPS navigation.
The following MINI Connected features, which comprise of MINI Connected app, Intelligent Emergency Call, Teleservices, MINI Online and Remote Services are available as standard for the MINI 3 Door, MINI 5 Door, MINI Clubman, MINI Countryman and MINI John Cooper Works models.
However, only the MINI Countryman and MINI John Cooper Works gain Concierge Services and Apple CarPlay as extras. The Countryman Plug-in Hybrid, on the other hand, comes with the exclusive eDrive services.
Besides that, pricing for all MINI models have gone up, but they each get additional features – all models now get child seat Isofix for the front seats. You may find the revised price list and specifications below. Click here to find out all about MINI Connected.
